Did you know that gymnast, Gabby Douglas won the Summer Olympics in 2012, and not only because of her superior talent in gymnastics, but also because of her ambitious personality. Gabby Douglas is an Olympic gymnast, starting her gymnastics career at the age of six. She was born on December 31 in 1995, she grew up in Virginia and then moved to Iowa to further pursue a more serious gymnastic career. Although other gymnasts have obviously won gold in the olympics, she was the first African American gymnast to win gold at the Olympics, she also plans to compete in the 2016 Olympics taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Gabby Douglas is the best gymnast ever because of her inspiration to others, dedication and her many medals in competition.

One reason that Gabby Douglas is the best gymnast ever is because of her inspiration to others. All across the world other gymnasts are inspired by her dedication and skill, she helps others overcome obstacles and fears in their gymnastic career. For example Gabby Douglas inspires a young girl with Lupus to never quit, the girl said ,”She is such an amazing person, and that's why I wanted to meet her, because she was in gymnastics and the Olympics and her story was kind of like mine, she went through a lot and wanted to quit, and she didn't."(Sukiennik). She has inspired so many people to play their dream sport, she has inspired people who don’t even do gymnastics. Others may say that she isn’t the only gymnast to have inspired people, but she is the only gymnast to ever change someone’s life, be the first african american gymnast to win an individual gold medal in gymnastics, and dedicate her whole entire life to do this sport, that’s what really makes her the best gymnast ever.
