It has been a long road of struggle for the University’s establishment.
Although they have reached success, we still have to remind the hearing community and the people in the position of power the equal opportunities that the Deaf community deserves. The university needs to be available and attainable financially for all those that want to further their education, with more than forty different majors to choose from in the University. For over one hundred and fifty years now, Gallaudet has been inspiring and reaching student’s dreams of having the same opportunities as everyone else. College education is important to every individual; it should never be unattainable or inaccessible to those that have disabilities or who are Deaf and how totally awesome is it that not everyone from a University can say they had their diploma signed by the President of the United States.
