The Game Plan

A lot of people from my hometown asked me why did I want to go to college. They say even with a degree you won’t find a good job or it will cost a lot of money to attend college and then money you going to make, if I ever got a high paying job, will just be paid back to the school the school I attended. And then I ask them, “why not attend college?” Do you want to be a bum for the rest of your life? Or work at McDonald’s flipping hamburgers while making only medium wage? That is not my plan for the rest of my life. I believe education is the most powerful thing you can obtain in life. That’s something that no one can ever take from you. I believe the more you learn the further you will go in life. You can land that million dollar dream job and own that expensive car and house. Who wouldn’t want that? The first thing everyone should do is list career goals, also, list short and long term goals. My goals are to graduate college, attend a grad school so I can get my masters degree. Get hired at: Google, Apple, or Any other major computer software jobs. It really don’t have to be a major one I can also work for any company that deals with computers or computer programming and work for them. But those are my dream jobs. My position call be called many things from computer repair, computer information, to computer engineer. All of them pretty much do the same thing. This position can require you to fix a major problem to fixing the smallest thing to even coming up with something brand new. I have also been the “nerd type” throughout my whole like. I really enjoy finding about the latest computer software or trying to figure out how and what makes the computer work. I will be ok with just coming into my job and sitting at my desk with computer parts everywhere! That will drive most people crazy but I can call that a place of peace. Although my first

Why go to college? Why would someone spend thousands of dollars to sit in yet another classroom? My uncle says “people that get a degree make over a million dollars more in a lifetime.” My dad counters that with “the world needs ditch diggers too.” I came to college to start my life, to become an independent man who finds his niche among society. I suppose some people can do that outside of school but I find college to be an optimum transition to the adult life as it teaches practical skills, instills a greater appreciation of the world, and makes one discontent with inequities in the community.…

This essay will discuss Checkland’s theory (1991) which states that: “We see in the world many examples of sets of human activities related to each other so that they can be viewed as a whole.” This is a very famous quote made by an eminent British Management guru ‘Peter Checkland’. This quote is very relevant in the context of this report as one could easily observe that in the analysis of a large technologically driven learning environment, there are many layers of complexities that house a lot of human activity systems. This set of activities according to what will be critically discuss and debated in this paper includes knowledge management and environment, intellectual capital and social capital, communities of practice and soft system thinking.”Everybody discusses knowledge management (KM), but how can it be used and how can we successfully apply it?” Greener et al (2007). Strategic knowledge management is relatively a new academic stream that deals with the strategic treatment of knowledge management practices prevalent in today’s academic world. We are living today in an information and knowledge-starved world. Since this essay want to discuss the relationship between strategy and this set of human activities mention above, firstly it will be of interest to introduce basic terms and definitions by different authors that will be used in the rest of the paper. Accordingly, as a term “Management” it implies that KM is the ability of the organization to react and act with interactions with the organizations (Macharizana, 1999) as quoted in Greiner et al (2007). The importance of both these ‘intellectual’ items have increased manifold in recent decades. Every giant corporation of our world today is emphasizing more and more on the development of intellectual capital. Knowledge management has emerged as a management concept that encloses a range of strategies and practices within itself in a company to identify, create, represent, distribute, and enable adoption…

People go to college for many different reasons. Many students are forced to go to college, resulting in them being unhappy and later on resentful. Others go just for the title of being a college student. “For some young people, it is a graceful way to get away from home and become independent without losing the financial support of their parents.” (Bird 484) It is beaten into many of our heads that society would look down at us for not attending college, and that to be successful in life you need to have some sort of a college education. Many students are told that going to college is much more presentable than to end up like someone such as a garbage man or janitor. One of the main reasons of going off to college is to get a good job.…

Since, the IST Department of XYZ Computers is all on the first floor we must relocate the servers to a secure location. The best possible place for the servers would be on a higher level floor. We should also move any essential hardware to an upper level like a second or third floor to ensure that flood damage doesn’t occur. We also have to store remote servers that are being backed up at the same time the servers backed up so that the system keeps current operations. These servers also need uninterrupted power supply (UPS). The UPS would be connected to the server and protect against problems that may cause hardware failure, loss of data, and data corruption. UPS aren’t designed to support a server for hours but it will give the network administrator time to save as much data as possible and to shut down the server safely. Fault tolerance also needs to be built into the system. This will also help the system run if a failure occurs. RAID 6, I believe would be the more suitable solution for this because it can survive the failure of two disk rather than just one and it’s information is written on two different disk also.…

I have a child who is artistic and throughout his life I have searched for various programs and facilities that would enhance his learning ability. Now that he is an adult there are only a few places, which offer continued life lessons for adults with autism. Most of the facilities are faced with no money or support. The government has reduced funding to the nonprofit organizations because of the poor economic conditions. There is usually not enough staff to assist an individual with his or her needs. Your loved one can be reduced to sitting in the house all day with no stimulation and nowhere to go. Then the idea came to me that these adults needed some training in how to make it in today’s society. Transitions are a large part of any school or work day, as we move to different activities or locations (Hume, K, 2010).…

High school graduates should not be pushed to go to college, no matter the circumstance.…
