Gandhi's Views On God
God
1. My own experience has led me to the knowledge that the fullest life is impossible without an immovable belief in a Living Law in obedience to which the whole universe moves. A man without that faith is like a drop thrown out of the ocean bound to perish. Every drop in the ocean shares its majesty and has the honour of giving us the ozone of life.—H, 25-4-36, 84.
God as Truth and Love
2. There is an indefinable mysterious power that pervades everything. I feel it, though I do not see it. It is this unseen power that makes itself felt and yet defies proof, because it is so unlike all that I perceive through out the existence of God to a limited extent. (YI, II, 10-28, 340.)
3. I have made he world’s faith in God my own, and as my faith is ineffaceable, I regard that to describe faith as experience is to tamper with Truth, it may perhaps be more correct to say that I have no word for characterizing my belief in God. –Auto, 34I.
4. God is that indefinable something which we all feel but which we do not know. To me God is Truth and Love, God is ethics and morality. God is fearlessness, God is the source of light and life and yet. He is above and beyond all these. God is conscience. He is even the atheism of the atheist. He transcends speech and reason. He is a personal God to those who need His touch. He is purest essence. He simply Is to those who have faith. He is long suffering. He is patient but He is also terrible. He is the greatest democrat the world knows. He is the greatest tyrant ever known. We are not, He alone Is—YI,5-3-25, 81.
5. You have asked me why I consider that God is Truth. In my early youth I was taught to repeat what in Hindu scriptures are known as one thousand names of God. But these one thousand names of God were by no means exhaustive. We believe-and I think it is the truth-that God has as many names as there are creatures and, therefore, we also say that God is nameless and since God many forms we

Origin, this fundamental question focuses on why is there something rather than nothing. One important aspect of the Krishna world view is that, there is one ultimate reality in which everything was already in existence. The Brahman, as the ultimate reality is known, is what manifested anything that has been created. Thus, as it is stated in Rigveda, that “existence was born from nonexistence” (10.72), and gods are a manifestation of the Brahman.…

This quote means that faith is not worth anything unless you take some action towards what you truly believe in. The action that you might take may be a good deed or simply be a gesture you take. Other actions that you might express are wisdom, humility, love, courage and service. This quote truly reflects how much Gandhi believed he could make a difference by having faith, and by having faith he was able to take drastic actions. For example in 1930 Gandhi leads the Salt March to protest the British monopoly on salt. Gandhi believed in the injustice of this that his action was to lead a march and show what he believes is right. A good adjective to describe Gandhi would be…

For my brochure I have chosen Judaism. The topics of focus for my brochure are two of the major festivals: the Passover and Yom Kippur. The different sects of Judaism include the Reform branch, the Conservative branch and the Orthodox branch ("Judaism Sects," 2013, para. 1). The Orthodox is the oldest branch of Judaism and was the original recorder of the oral traditions claimed to be passed intact from parent-to-child and teacher to student ("Judaism Sects," 2013, para. 2). The Reform branch is the first known group to deny the divine origin of the Torah and publish a new prayer book paving the Reform’s official declaration of anti-Zionism in 1885 ("Judaism Sects," 2013, para. 4, 5). The Conservative branch of Judaism is a sub-branch of the Reform branch arguing that we do not possess a God given Torah, let alone a Divine oral tradition ("Judaism Sects," 2013, para. 24).…

God is incomprehensible, one that we cannot totally fathom (Pss. 139:6; Rom. 11:33-36; Pss. 145:3). But this in no way implies that we cannot know God truly. For in creating us in His image and giving us a Word, revelation of Himself, even though we cannot know God fully, we many know him truly (Deut. 29:29). (Brand, Draper, and England 659) This is why and discussion of the Christian doctrine of God must be firmly rooted and grounded in Scripture as God’s Word written (Pss. 19:7-14; 119; Prov. 1:7; 2 Tim. 3:14-17).…

Nature and revelation alike testify of God’s love. It is transgression of God’s law—the law of love—that has brought woe and death. Yet even amid the suffering that results from sin, God’s love is revealed. "God is love" is written upon every opening bud, upon every spire of springing grass.…

Lastly, God the ultimate being, is absolutely true. God is the source of all truth. Our God, who is present everywhere and knows all things, has total understanding of what is real, what is right, and what is true. Everything around could not have just blew up from a microscopic spec. It was formed from the great mind of someone who knows everything. For example, the human body is too complex to just appear. As Gandhi once said “It is not given to man to know the whole Truth. His duty lies in living up to the truth as he sees it, and in doing so, to resort to the…
