Same-sex couples are just like regular couples. Yet isn’t as easy for same-sex couples to adopt as it is for regular couples. Even after same-sex couples face trouble from the society. In the article titled Male Couples Face Pressure to Fill Cradle, it states “And once they have children, many same-sex couples still endure the inevitable criticism- spoken or unspoken- from those who remain uncomfortable with the notion of their being parents.”(Corvino, John. www.nytimes.com). This shows how much gay/lesbian couples have to go through when trying to adopt. But even after all this stress, the love for their children still says the same. Even though it’s not the same as having a woman and a man as parents, there will still be the same love and that’s really what matters when it comes to children.
There are millions of orphans and making gay adoption legal will allow us to help these kids. In a New York Time article A Child’s Best Interest it said, “A 2009 report by Arkansas Department of Human Services found 517 children awaiting adoption but only 228 adoption homes available” (www.nytimes.com). Voters had agreed that gay or lesbians shouldn’t be allowed to serve as foster parents. But same-sex couple adoption would actually help the orphans. These couples would be able to provide them a home, a family, and love. Right now, the needs for kids should be
