The cognitive science also uses memory and attention and language,
which makes me think of early childhood education. When children are in a preschool setting and playing in a center, we as teachers need to sit back and leave the children take the lead. Leave them understand the world around them and ask questions to gain better knowledge on things they don’t understand or know in this stage of their learning. We should be taking the children learning to their level of play. If they need to work on numbers, practice counting blocks, sorting the colors, making numbers out of toys, or just leaving the child take the lead and come up with ideas. Children learn more when they are able to make a connection with their brain. This is why I believe the relationship of the two work together and make a great outcome.
In the article, they mention adaptive plasticity, which is when the capacity of the brain can change due to the cognitive environment. This makes me think of Piaget’s theory of cognitive development. He believed that the child’s knowledge was constructed by their understanding of the world around them and believed in “open education” in child centered classrooms.
The study of Cognitive Science and Education related to High Performance Learning because it is not a certain why to learn or a correct way to obtain information. It is the process of knowing. High Performance Learning
