There are many different sociological approaches towards health and ill health and they can be used in many different scenarios, such as the scenario of Aziz and Tamsela. Aziz and Tamsela have 4 young children and Tamsela’s parents are also living with them. Their house only has 3 bedrooms so will be cramped and over crowed since there is eight people living in a tiny house. Their house is in a poverty-stricken and discouraging part of London. Also, their house is in a bad state as it is damp and they find it quite costly to keep the house warm in winter since Aziz and Tamsela both don’t have a job.…

The common theme in the short stories "A Pair of Tickets", "A Rose For Emily", and "Girl" is expectation. Each main character experiences a feeling of expectation from either within themselves, from others, or a cultural norm. Each character feels burdened by these expectations and that can be sensed in the tone of these short stories. These expectations have evident effects on the female characters as it effects their thoughts, actions, and self-realizations. Although each story is significantly different, they all share the same theme.…

Fate, whether believed in or not, has been lamed for many mishaps by people who weren’t able to or just weren’t going to take responsibility for their actions. Some people believe it to be unchangeable, while others believe it to rely heavily on a person’s decisions throughout their life, with each choice putting them on a different path. In Romeo and Juliet, fate is given responsibility over several of the tragic incidents that occur in the play; however, human error also plays a large role in the disastrous tale of the two lovers. In Romeo and Juliet, fate isn’t the only cause of horrendous events, but weakness, or the loss of self control, are to mainly be blamed.…
Basing on both of the story, love does not equal sex, but both of them are necessary for a good relationship. Using courting a monk as an example, the couple in the story had love each other in the earlier stage in the story, but as the get married they got to have sex to maintain the good relationship. Moving on drinking coffee elsewhere, the narrator and Heidi started to love each other and they slept together for the whole winter, but they have never had sex as the narrator is overly protecting herself, and so when time moves on, they broke up because their relationship is not complete without a suitable amount of sex.…
On the other hand, other theory in this regard finds NHS responsible for providing the services of health enabling them to lead the healthy life. The functional approach provides the factors and forms of illness are the similar aspects based on which the Marxist approach provides different reasons for the illness. There are more perspectives such as social action approach as well as the feminist approach considering the healthcare with the objective perspective. The feminist approach is concerned with the domination of male within the medical profession (McAvoy & Wilde, 2008; Graham, 2009; Ingleby, et al., 2012). Based on this aspect, different conditions of women such pregnancy and child birth are related to the medical issues as they are natural processes bound to occur in every woman in specific phase of their lives. Since, women as observed in the three families of the case study are responsible for balancing their family and work due to which they suffer from the stress and other physical or mental illnesses. On the other hand, the internationalist approach provided the illness as the perspectives of a person as to what sort of condition can define their illness differs for every person. This approach does not consider the cause of illness but considers the illness itself (Dowler & Spencer, 2007; Smith,…

The major argument conveyed by the author is that the increase in women’s participation in the labour force in many countries have created the “crisis of care”, which is the tensions created by the difficulties that families encounter in trying to balancing family time and work. In dealing with this crisis, reconciliation policies need improvements in order to counter this tension.…
Andrea, in response to your question, I do believe that women are more likely to seek healthcare than men. I believe this to be true, due to the fact that the way society has stereotyped women, not only for this reason alone, but also because of the way women are raised and brought up by their families. I believe the latter part of that to be true more so for those women from older generations. In society, women are viewed to be weaker than men, whom are to be strong. I personally do not necessarily agree with the previous statement. Women are also viewed as the ones who take care of things, they are the primary caregiver in many families. I believe many women seek healthcare more than men because they have to take of themselves in order…

A mother’s stability of support is compromised when the father is absent from the home. A family with only one income can be financially burdensome when taking care of children. The financial burden will also depend on which side of the income bracket a single mother is categorized and how many children she is responsible for taking care of. It is nearly impossible to take care of more than one child if a single mother’s income is in a low-income bracket. Also, having a father in the household with a second income to provide financially can make a big difference in the lives of the parents and the children. Mothers sometimes obtain jobs making minimum wage…
