Genderlect

Communication between the genders has been an area of interest for both scholars and layman for quite some time. Some of them claim the battle between the genders can never be won, others claim there is no battle, only a struggle to understand each other and communicate. The term genderlect has been defined as the language of the genders. Similar in form to the word "dialect", genderlect is a variety of a language that is tied to the speaker's gender.
The study of genderlects has been dominated by one word: difference. Differences between men and women and the way we speak
Are men and women really different? of course We’re different anatomically, but are we Different in any other ways? According to linguists men and women speak differently because we were brought up in different socio linguistic subcultures. From the time we were born we were treated differently, talked to differently, and as a result we talk differently.” Men are more concerned with what they can do to solve a problem, while women, in a similar situation just need empathy.
Let us look at a situation where I had a tough day at work and after returning home i started complaining :“Nobody cares..the whole world is out to take my trip!”
My father , watching TV said casually: “That’s not true dear. You are not that famous that the whole world hates you.Many people don’t even know you.”
(It was a big jolt ..i was expecting some empathy but i got a dose of reality.) my mom said ..........Hmmmm no body cares for anyone now a days and i agree that people out there are very cruel ..
(i felt lots better hearing that ..)
Both my parents were emphathising with me but my fathers logical mind could only think about facts .`
