2. Give a brief explanation of one of the Neo-Freudian psychoanalytic theories, including the theorist and key concepts. Carl Jung, rejected Freud's view of primary importance of unconscious sexual urges as well as others. Jung looked at the primitive urges of the unconscious more positively and argued that they represent a more general positive life force that compasses the inborn drive motivating creativity and more positive resolution of conflict.
3. Give a brief explanation of one of the learning theories including the theorist and key concepts. B.F. Skinner, Stated that personality is simply a collection of learned behavior patterns.
4. Give a brief explanation of one of the humanistic theories including the theorist and key concepts. According to Carl Rodgers humans have the need for unconditional love and respect, with this they develop a more realistic self concept. Although many have tried to argue this theory I agree with it.
5. Which theory do you believe is the most credible? Why? I believe that all of these theories are credible in their own way. Every person has their own views on personality and where it is derived from. Although some may be more credible than others each of the theorists in the book have factual credible findings behind their theories. Although, I am more compelled by Carl Rodger’s humanistic theory.
