Genesis 1: Comparing The Book And Movie
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Sin came and took away perfection. With time people in earth were cruel and lack faith, love and kindness was absent. The word of God was being lost. There was only one family of believers left. Everything was so devastated and wrong that God decided to destroy the earth with a flood. In his infinite grace and love God save the believers,Noah family, and two animals of each species, one male and one female. The story of the flood became a famous biblical story and was made into a movie. As a movie how much it follows the bible? As christians is it wrong to watch it?
The movie has many major differences compared to the bible. In my opinion the worst differenc e is
the fact that in the movie human race is supposed to end. As christians I know that the purpose of the ark was not only to save the animals but as well the humans. For me that difference was very shocking and for those that do not have a strong faith can be something that show God as a bad thing not as lovely and kindness. Another big difference for me was the age of Noah's sons, in the movie they were young and only one of them had wife. In the bible we know that they were older and all had wives. Genesis 9:19 says “These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the whole earth.” it shows the that they were the ones that populate the earth.
A thing that I appreciated from the movie was the way animals enter the arks. I alway imagine how everything happened and it was very amazing to visually see the entrance of the animals in the arck. This point of the movie made me realize how powerful God is. He made all kinds of animals enter the ark. In this point of the movie I could only thank God for all he did for us, instead of destroying everything God save two of each animal in the arch. From the smallest to biggest animals were there. I think the movie was okay for entertainment reasons but definitely is not a movie that follows the bible. Personally i do not recommend it because I do not think it is a movie that ass knowledge, however I believe that for those that do not have a strong faith can be something that make their faith weaker.
