George Washington Founding Father
If have ever studied the presidents of the US, or just had a one dollar bill and looked at that face on the front, you have probably seen or of hearing George Washington. President / general Washington was one of the main founding for fathers of our country. Throughout his life he had a lot of things that happened and they were once in a lifetime opportunity. He had a pretty interesting and complicated childhood as a young child. Then when he was older he became something great did some amazing things that have formed our country today . This is just a little bit that our founding father, George Washington has to offer towards the founding of our country. years of his long life. FIrst let's start with where this influential man was born. He was born on February 22 1732, in the Westmoreland county of Virginia. He was raised by his father and his mother until he was about the age of 11 when his father was pronounced dead. Now George was expected to become the man of the household for his mother, and for his half brother Lawrence. Now that this had happened, he had a short childhood and had to grow up fast to care for his family. He was homeschooled from age 7 all the way to age 16. Now He was a very well mannered young gentleman and once said “we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity” George Washington. When George turned 16 he started traveling with a land surveying party to map the boundaries of Virginia. This was the first development into his accomplishments as something greater for our country.
What George Washington was one one the most thought of us generals, but what if I told you he fought for the British first before the U.S.. He first started as a part of British militia then later quit because he was turned down a leadership position in the army. After this he was out of war for a while and found his new wife. Later he was elected to virginia's House Of Burgesses, which were the governing council of the colony under the king at this time in history.After a lot of consideration, later George Washington was later made the general of the continental army. He had earned this position in many different of the way and was the by far the best choice for leading the country. He would come to the congress meetings and hear the problems that they argued over. Also with his past experiences with the British army, he had experience with the enemy's techniques to exploit and use against them in battle. Then George Washington once said “To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace.”
One George was put in this power he did some of the most important moves in our country's history and without his wise choices we would not be here as you stand today.
Now with his new continental army, he was to protect the united states independence. This is exactly what he did, he went fighting and winning defying the odds and winning most of his battles. This was shocking considering that a ragtag team of militia men is outsmarting and defeating the most strong and intelligent army in the world at the time and this got major attention in other countries in Europe. After the war the United States had won the war and showed its major power in small numbers and that it stands for liberty. This will make many European countries wanted to ally with this new country for help in the future. Now that other bigger countries recognised the United States of America as a country and that Britain was not under control they needed a leader. Now that our beloved president and general washing are gone, we need someone like him to lead us in battle to protect of independence and freedom. I have looked around and found someone named Robert B. Abrams who is a four star general in the United States army I feel is like a modern day version of George Washington. He has been responsible for keeping our country along with all of the men and women who have risked their lives to keep our liberty in our country safe. He has shown his respect, and that he cares for his country and what it stands for just like our first president did.I know that he has not become president but he has time left maybe in .2020 he could hypothetically run for president. I think that this also matched to George Washington of the future as well. Observe good faith and justice toward all nations. Cultivate peace and harmony with all.
