George Washington was born February 22, 1732 to Augustine and Mary Bell Washington. He delivered his farewell address urging “the new nation to maintain the highest standards domestically and to keep involvement with foreign powers to a minimum”(history.com).
“Washington returned to Mount Vernon and devoted his attentions to making the plantation as productive as it had been before he became president”(history.com). He was still involved with the U.S. army from 1798 till his death. “In December 1799, he caught a cold after inspecting his properties in the rain. The cold developed into a throat infection and Washington. died on the night of December 14 at the age of 67”(history.com). Washington was buried at Mount Vernon, making it an national historic landmark.
Washington was a natural born leader. There were social, economic, and cultural influences on George Washington that affected his lifetime achievements. If the different aspects of his life did not occur the way they did it could have impacted this country greatly. His terms as President set the precedence for all of the following presidents.
