George Washington's Downfall

Do you think a president could be so old that he lost all of his teeth? Do you think that a president could go into battle and still be alive? Well, George Washington had been through all of that. He did received some battle wounds. He even had the guts to take down his father’s prized cherry tree. George Washington was born February 22, 1732 in Virginia. His family were farmers. At the age of sixteen, George Washington worked as a surveyor for Lord Fairfax. “In July, 1752, George Washington's brother, Lawrence, died of tuberculosis making him the heir apparent of the Washington lands”(biography.com). George had 8000 acres of land. He married Martha Dandridge shortly before the revolutionary war. In 1754 George Washington was lieutenant
colonel when fighting the French and Indian Wars. George was named commander in chief in 1775 for the continental army. To win battles he used his skills and mind to win. After boot camp he received a major grade for his military career. George wanted to acquire everything and he pushed himself to get to those requirements. He pushed his troops to be the best of the best. He even went onto becoming america's first president. Although George is smart on his choices on becoming president. People wanted him to become king but, he politely refused to become king and instead he became president. George Washington died December 14, 1799. After his death they put his face on the front side of the 25 cent coin and on the one dollar bill. He even had mountains and 740 schools named after him.
