Little is known about his childhood. That’s why people make up stories to fill in the dark spots. Like how he chopped down a cherry tree then confessed to it. He was homeschooled from age 7 to 15. But he studied with a local church. And became a schoolmaster. On practical math, geography, Latin, English. But his family was very helpful and sadly his dad died when he was 11. In July 1752, George Washington’s brother, Lawrence, died of tuberculosis, making him the heir apparent of the Washington
