The poetic structure I have used is free verse. Free verse is a type of poetry that does not rhyme or have any rhyming tune that can be heard in it. The poem can tell a story describing a person, animal, feeling or object. Free verse was easier for me to use. No rhyming patterns are easier for you to use more words instead of thinking of words to rhyme with the type of story you are doing. George’s marvellous medicine did not really explain any message for mood throughout the book. …show more content…
When I had Started my Poem, It was hard to include Literary Devices.
As I got more interested in Literary devices I started to get confident on which Type of Devices I wanted to use in my poem, I finally decided what kind of Devices I wanted in my poem, these include Onomatopoeias, Similes, and Hyperboles As I added in these Two of these Devices I wanted to try and use different literary devices. As I added more Stanzas I got an opportunity to add in another Device in each
one
I have used many language features in my Poem these Language features include similes, onomatopoeia, and Hyperboles. have used these Language features to influence the audience by making it seem more interesting. I have used hyperboles, onomatopoeia, and similes because they are the easiest Poetic devices to use. Below I have used examples from my poem, I have also used definitions for each of them, also adding in more reasons why it can influence an Audience. Hyperbole means an exaggerated statement or speech not meant to be taken seriously. Here is an example from my Poem, ‘It is taking forever for you to get my Medicine!’ This influences the audience by showing that George's Grandma is very impatient and does not want to wait for George. Simile is a figure of speech involving the comparison of one Object or kind with another thing of a different species or Object here is an Example from my Poem, ‘The Old Woman screeched like a Hawk’
This shows that George’s grandma is not very happy, and has an eerie nature. Onomatopoeia means a word from a sound associated with what is named. Here is an example from my Poem, ‘Crash! Bang! Clatter! The pots and pans fell to the ground’. This influences the audience because it shows exactly how the pots and pans are reacting when falling or being moved around. I am trying to achieve making people more interested in literary devices. By using the most common literary devices they can work their way into the harder ones.
It is important that you use the appropriate material so your audience understands what the message or mood of the story is. By using difficult words or using difficult hints will make the person confused and they will have to re-think the whole poem again.
