It was like the chains wrapped once around me as a person were broken free but with consequences. For then the same person who bid me farewell fell ill two months later. Hospitalized and with my father constantly working I had to step up and take care of my little brother. Work two jobs, keep up with schoolwork, and become a parent. For 6 months I had slept a total of 22 hours a week on average. I had overbearing classwork loaded on top of taking care of my autistic little brother. Yet despite working myself down to the bone everyday I never gave an excuse and I never gave up. This rebellious attitude that makes me who I am comes from the way I was shaped around my family. I always was raised from poverty but that wasn’t the part that gave me the fight I have today. It was the reason why I lived in poverty that shaped me as a person, for my father was a fully licensed veterinarian back in nicaragua and my mother was at the top of her class. When my dad found out his accreditations didn’t count here he gave up because he got lazy. My mother had been kicked out at 16 just like me but gave up on herself and let life win.
