Ronald Reagan’s Address to the Nation on the Challenger is a great example of good public speaking. Reagan uses great language throughout the speech and puts people in a better mood about a very tragic event in American history. Throughout the speech he addresses the majority of the population and thanks people who were involved in helping the space shuttle reach space. His use of all these elements is why I personally love this speech and think it is a great speech for anyone to…

For the first speech I decided to analyze the “Space Shuttle Challenger Tragedy Address from president Ronald Reagan. This speech was pretty easy to identify if it was an informative or persuasive speech. The president was addressing the nation to inform them about a tragedy that had taken place the very same day. From reading through this week’s lesson, I would say that concept President Reagan used was speaking to entertain. The lesson stated this type of informative was used for speeches at occasions like ceremonies, wedding, funerals, and often used as remembrances speeches. It only seems fit that this type of speech is what President Reagan gave on that day.…

As for me, when I was in middle school, I had to do a presentation about my chosen president, Thomas Jefferson. In it, I had to inform the class about my president enough to prepare to the test that was coming up about each president we presented. At first, it was purely informative, but after a while, I customized the speech into having some sort of persuasion in it as well, which talked about why he was an important reason onto how he made America today. And in the end, I could present a successful presentation, getting the class to pass the questions when it talks about Jefferson.…

It was the Saturday before our topic choice was due, for professor Lee’s class. I was stressing, I could not figure out what to talk about. I literally google searched informative speech topics, but I did not find anything I really wanted to talk about. So I went to work like any normal Saturday. I was bagging groceries like usual, and there is a little boy in my way, so I politely say excuse me and the little boy stares at me with a blank expression. Next thing I know, the little boy runs and hugs my co-worker Darryl, who is bagging next to me. Darryl’s reaction was priceless. He was like “oh my gosh ahhh” and I tell him to chill, because I do not want him to scare the boy. So this happens, and the mother tells me “oh sorry he can not help it, he has autism.” At that moment, it was like God had slapped me in the face with a topic, that is when I decided on my topic of Autism in children, how it is difficult living with autism.…
