3. The key to a healthy and wealthy life is to start as early as possible. The younger you are the better. Good money management as a child or teen sets you up for the rest of your life Preview
Transition So, you need money to be able to manage it…
Body
I. Having/Making Money First Main Point
A. Good education=good job=good pay
B. Always strive to make an extra buck
1. If work offers you more hours, there is no need to turn it down. C. When you make the money from working, you have your money and you keep it in your bank.
1. Pay very close attention to your bank account. When spending money, write down every transaction you make whether it is using a debit/credit card or cash and include the dollar amount and what you purchased. This makes you more aware of what exactly you are spending and on what and can eliminate pointless spending.
Transition: Having a significant other and their income on top of yours may make you two feel wealthy…but it can be a trap!
II. The Two Income Trap Second Main Point
A. People may think they can afford a decent home based on the income of them and their significant other; however, this is how a lot of people are ending up bankrupt in this poor economic time we are experiencing. With two people in the workforce, that makes it twice as likely someone will get laid off, fired, or become ill. B. The two income trap
