I totally disagree with the whole idea of Daylight saving. It was introduced to Canada about 100 years ago ago and it is now being continues as an eight month ritual. This whole idea was introduced to Canada during the World War I to save coal as it was useful in the wars. Till now the whole point of this idea is to conserve and save energy but in fact we are actually wasting energy. Studies by the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research have proven that despite its intended purpose, it is wasting energy that is meant to be saved! Losing one hour of sleep is really a huge thing for many people. It makes us less productive and worse still, productivity is unaffected when we are given an extra hour sleep several months later. After people…
A typical American stereotype usually consists of being called obese, lazy, or that we are money wasters. We as Americans usually tend to spend money as we make it, not really thinking in the long term, but in the short term. Exemplifying this is the notorious Black Friday. This is a day where we, as Americans, come together and spend as much as we see fit. This results in numerous economic and effects, and even some environmental effects. One year Canada was fed up with the excessive consumerism and created the opposite of Black Friday: Buy Nothing Day. According to Adbusters (“Buy Nothing Day,” www.adbusters.org) this day was created to “expose the environmental and ethical consequences of overconsumption.” Clearly this is alluding…
“Buy Nothing Day”, a day in which people are urged to purchase no goods, has good intentions, but may actually have more of a negative effect than a positive one. Yes, this one day may promote awareness to the problems of overconsumption, but it could harm the economy even more. Also, people spend money every day on water and electricity, therefore those who don’t buy anything on this day are actually still paying for these services. Overall, the day has good intentions, but could actually do more harm than good.…
The claim the “Era of Good Feelings...was something of a misnomer” (242) is valid due to the consequences of the economic panic that erupted in 1819. This panic was the first since Washington’s time, and it caused the new nation to face a plethora of problems, including deflation, depression, bankruptcies, bank failures, unemployment, soup kitchens, and over-crowded debtors’ prisons. The main contributor of the catastrophe of 1819 was the over speculation of land prices in the frontier lands. The involvement in this popular form of outdoor gambling caused the Bank of the United States to fall heavily into debt since the cheap price of western land caused the government to lose profit. The financial disaster that arose from the panic had a negative…
Today I would like to encourage you to donate to the Eight Days of Hope foundation. Since 2005, the faith-based ministry Eight Days of Hope has rebuilt nearly 2,000 homes and done 25.2 million dollars worth of work. They have been involved in disaster recovery events all over the South Eastern United States. Eight Days of Hope was only supposed to be a one-time disaster recovery event during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Because of God, donations, and volunteers, they have continued to provide relief to victims of disasters for the past 12 years.…
Psychedelic and surreal art are all about imagination. Although psychedelic art is know to be connected to drugs, it’s very interesting. Just take a pinch of surreal visuals, highly distorted illustrations and bright colors with full spectrums to delineate this specific concept. Animation and cartoons are also a big part of surreal and psychedelic art. Additionally, metallic foils and mixed media create a sense of “altered consciousness” as well.…

ick one day every other week (or at least once a month) and schedule it into your calendar as a personal ‘Reset Day.’ The purpose of a ‘reset day’ is to give you a mini, one-day vacation. By taking an entire day off, you help support the release of toxic energy and stress in your body while also giving your body time to rest. A ‘reset day’ just as any wellness ritual you integrate into your life, will help cleanse your mind and body, and encourage permanent weight loss.…
After the tea, my uncle slept. Probably he thought that my parents would come back soon. He did not get up before 3 P.M. At that time I was very hungry. I felt insulted when I met our neighbor for the third time to arrange a real for my uncle. When he went there for his lunch, I prepared to attend the feast although it was late.…

As I woke up last morning, I felt the cold breeze throughout my skin, I can see the sunlight passing through my window and I heard the chirp of the birds in the roof. With a sigh, I realize something, something that makes me feel better. It is the fact that the world did not end yesterday.…
Today I got up at eleven o'clock. I washed my face and took a bath. I had rice, fried egg, clear soup and spicy minced pork. I went to school by motorcycle. I went to my classroom. I went to the playground. I sang the national anthem and I chanted. I went back up to my classroom. I memorized the multiplication table with my friends. I read English and Thai books. Today my favourite Subject was English because we went to the computer room. We wrote our diary. In the evening I did math. I went to the playground again because I wanted to wait for my aunt. Today I felt very confident. I hope tomorrow will be very fun.…

"How long have you been awake?' I asked drowsily. My head was on his chest, and I was wrapped against him as best as I could manage. My wounds were healing rapidly but still had to be babied. We'd found a few creative workarounds last night. Sunlight now spilled in through the windows, filling my bedroom with gold.…
Sea looked extremely beautiful. We bought some junk foods, fruits and grandfather’s birthday cake to eat. When I played in the beach it was relaxing for me. We played volley ball, hide and seek in the woods. Around five something we all went to sea to swim. My grandfather and grandmother were enjoying a lot. At last we all gave a surprise to grandpa. He cuts the cake, and we gave lots of gifts to him. Finally around seven we reached our home. This was remarkable day. Next day I visited all the family and friends houses. I had a great time.…
