Goal Analysis
My first goal is to remove soda and sugary drinks from my diet. During the school year, I find it hard to eat healthy. I often find myself snacking on Oreos late at night, ordering pizza more than once a week, and getting takeout a lot. I’ll often drink 1-2 sodas per day here because they come with the meal and are easily accessible. When I go home for the summer or even Winter Break I will lose several pounds just eating good healthy foods, exercising, and not drinking soda. In order to meat this goal and to keep myself accountable, I will write down in my cell phone app “Notes” each time I drink soda. I will first start by drinking 0 cups of soda each week for 1 month. The next 2 months I will continue to drink no soda, but I will also cut …show more content…
The main activity I will do is playing pickup basketball at Pearson Hall. Basketball is my favorite sport and it is an easy way to get 2/3 hours of exercise each time I go. In addition, the competition is often good and it is a decent workout. Another way I can get exercise is through the gym at IBC. I am not a huge fan of running just to run, so I will often times try to play a sport instead. I will make a checklist for physical activity. Each week I will have a paper on my refrigerator that says “Weekly Physical Activity” There will be four boxes that each say 2 hours. Each week my goal will be to check off all four boxes. My goal is acceptable. The time commitment can be there as long as I make an effort. I can easily schedule 2 hours/days of physical activity on the weekends. Likewise, I can easily fit 4 hours of exercise in throughout the school week. I will play basketball every Tuesday/Thursday at 2:00pm. This will give me a lot of consistency with my exercise and ultimately achieving my goal. This goal is extremely realistic. Essentially, the goal is to do 8 hours of exercise per week. That is a little over 1 hour of exercise per day. I think this amount is a great way to be consistent throughout the semester. This goal has essentially already been in effect, but will officially start Monday February 1st. It will “end” May 1st. However, during the summer I will not have any problem with exercising 8 or

Compare/Contrast BMI & Individual Plan: There are three sections to this part of the assignment, and for the first part, you need to designate where your BMI falls according to the standard tables (underweight, normal, overweight, obese). In the second part of the assignment, you need to develop a dietary plan for your BMI value, and for the most part, you need to be as detailed as possible. Basically, I would like to see a "day in your life" according to where your current BMI falls. You need to include how many calories you plan on taking in and why, and you also need to develop a day's worth of eating with specific foods and portions. As far as the exercise plan, again, you need to be as specific as possible. The goal of this section is to develop a plan that incorporates all of the components of a sound fitness program (flexibility, endurance, strength training, body fat, and cardiovascular), as well as discuss specific exercises that you plan on doing. Basically, the goal is to produce a weekly plan, with specific exercises, that has all of the components of a sound fitness…

The first challenge was for each of the students in the group to run at least 20 laps of the gym during the month. They tracked progress and encouraged their friends to accomplish the task. Then the next month, they challenged their peers to another exercise goal – push-ups, sit ups, lunges, jumping jacks were to be done throughout the time in our program, helping each student to understand the importance of daily exercise in a healthy…

pounds before October 4th, 2017. The aim to lose 15 pounds in one year is quite realistic because exercising weekly and making healthy diet choices are important moves that will help ensure the success of this particular goal. I believe as my performance is slowly progressing along the way, I will develop a more confident attitude. An intermediate goal that supports my long-term goal is to hold myself accountable by measuring a weight of five pounds by March 25th, 2017. It’s important to accomplish this goal because I would like to get in shape and feel confident about my body. A short-term goal that would help assist the long-term goal of losing weight is having a healthy lifestyle by cutting out junk food from my daily diet, however removing junk food completely may not be easy, but using the services of someone such as a personal…

Throughout my journey through this class I have been able to think of many goals to set for myself to allow me to be healthier. First, I will start with my nutritional goals. The first nutritional goal I will talk about is my daily caloric intake. From now on, I plan to limit my daily calories to 1200 making sure I do not fall below the 1200 count. I realize how important it is to consume at least 1200 calories a day; falling below the 1200 calorie count can lead to…

Throughout the course of the last nine weeks, my eyes have been opened to an entirely new world full of nutritional and exercising information. It is rough being a thirty-three year old husband and father, with an eye on trying to remain on this planet for as long as humanly possible. As parents, we all have goals we want to achieve. The usual suspects include seeing your children graduate high school and then college, walking your daughter down the aisle of her wedding, and being able to retire and continue to live a healthy and happy life. What I have come to realize through this nutritional and exercising information is that in order to accomplish this goal, there are certain aspects of my life that I need to change. I am not a particularly healthy eater. I do not exercise regularly. I mostly do what I can with the time I have available. I suspect this problem plagues many men across this country and around the world. In my state, the obesity rate is close to 30% and it continues to trend upward (Centers for Disease Control, 2011). Without a drastic change in lifestyle, I am simply adding to the statistics. The knowledge I have gained in this course has led me to believe that this is simply unacceptable. Something has to change, and I have a plan to make that happen.…

    Summer Workout Plan

    • 754 Words
    • 4 Pages

This upcoming summer I plan to achieve many desired goals, but one goal that I am specifically focused on is that of becoming stronger. I will be planning on getting a lot bigger due to this work out plan and without track season it will allow me to focus on eating more and gaining more muscle mass without running it off every day. Seeing, as I will not be participating in any league or district sports this summer this will be strictly for my own general health and in preparation for my upcoming senior year track season. With my workout plan, I will be anticipating gaining at least ten pounds in body mass as well as increasing my muscular endurance and capability. I am going to be working out in the morning or early afternoon, if it’s not the first thing I do for the day it’ll be in the early afternoon after a work day of caddying that can be taken as my cardio before my workout. For my workout I will be doing a little cardio before I lift every day I do go to lift, either I will go play basketball, run on a treadmill or the track, or swim in a pool all provided at the facility that I have a membership at. I will be working out at least four days a week at minimum, but with a maximum of five days a week, I want to give my body enough time to rest recover and gain in my muscular capabilities before I go back at it and tear up my muscles again. I will be alternating the days of lifting with not only how I lift but also what I lift; it will be a rotation of heavy medium and light lifting days. Along with the rotation of workout strictly targeting certain areas, for example I will have days targeting core lifts then another based on strictly back and legs, and then another for arms and chest. These all with be put into the rotation so that each will be placed on a light day medium day and a heavy day so that one workout isn’t always lifted heavy or always lifted light. From my house, this club is only ten minutes, which is a good thing because within this distance it…

The first week was definitely the hardest temptation is everywhere, I never really noticed how much advertisements, billboards and magazine spreads have fast food/ unhealthy food on them, I had a few slip ups but I started to buckle down and by the end of the week my work seemed to pay off. The second week was much better Wednesday was pretty crazy yet I got thru it after that it was smooth sailing. The third week was the best I had my routine down breakfast, work, lunch, work, gym, dinner by six and relax, bedtime at 10 pm then get up and do it all over again until Friday weigh in. This project helped me realise two things first I have the best support system a girl could ask for second no matter the goal or obstacle that is set before me I can…

This 6-week project was successful by reaching my weekly objectives goals and I haven’t drinked soda since week 2 of this project. I plan on not drinking soda in a very long time and conituine drinking a minimum of 63 ounces of water each day. My weekly progress is repersented in a graph (Figure 2). Even though during week one I didn’t meet in daily objective goal of drinking a minimum of 63 oz. of water I made it as a trial week to see how I normally drink water and how I basically let the barriers defeat my goal. Once I bought a water bottle I was able to properly measure my water intake and remind myself constantly. Accomplishing my ojective goal everyday became naturally incorpated in my daily life and it is something I will continue to…

I also plan to keep playing it year round. My goal this summer is to go on a run at least once a week. Also, I really want to start doing 5 minutes of core each day. I hope to eventually apply overload and do longer than 5 minutes of core. This summer I also want to start making healthier food decisions. Instead of eating junk food, I want to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. I also don’t drink enough water, so I want to start carrying a water bottle with me so I will remember to keep drinking it. In college, I also hope to play softball. In college, I want to join a Zumba or dance class because I like dancing and think it would be a great way to exercise. When I’m an adult, I see myself exercising with my spouse. I love to go on walks, so that would be one way I would stay fit. I also see myself joining a slow pitch softball team. I don’t see myself getting a gym membership because I would rather run and do core at home. I may not get one, but I might go to the gym every once in a while to lift. Another activity to keep myself fit is playing with my kids. I will be constantly running around with them and playing games with them. I also get to buy my own food when I’m older, so I hope I make good, healthy…

My Behavior Change was mainly on improving my nutrition, by intaking better foods such as fruits and vegetables and less amounts of fats. This change would help in achieving my long term goal which was losing weight, but gaining it back in lean muscle mass. I chose to focus on my weight, because it has always been something that I have had on the back of my mind. I found this project to be a great opportunity in order to change this, but in order to do so I had to identify my obstacles. I had a total of three which were insufficient time for exercise, school-related activities, and malnutrition.…

First, I eliminated any type of bad habits I had picked up over my senior year. Any variation of pop seemed to be my favorite beverage. With pop having nearly fifty grams of sugar per serving, I knew I needed to cut it out of my diet. My new thirst quenchers of choice were water and pomegranate juice. You can’t get any healthier than that. I went a solid month with only drinking these two beverages and I saw some tremendous results. I managed to lose nearly ten pounds within a month without exercising. This is when I realized that eating differently and working…
