Zia’s story is persuasive for only some part of this book. This is the early part where author takes us through his childhood, his fascination in Islamic precept at the compulsion of his devout to his aunt (Zubeida), and his view as he grows up that he is doomed to be “God’s Little Soldier”, a guardian of Islamic beliefs in the immoral world. “The power of mass prayer was an epiphany to Zia,” He writes about Zia’s first visit to mosque all by himself. “He discovered that his prayers had more body and weight and rapture when he was among believers in the mosque.” One can get an idea with his why Zia might want to do something to disturb the world.
But now Nagarkar convulse it up. Zia is super human. He is a mathematical prodigy; he has 3 girlfriends at classy school but is disinterested towards all of them; he is narrow-minded toward his family but they still like him. As a student in Cambridge, He sets to gun down Salman Rushdie, the “obstreperous Midnight’s Child” and the curse of Islam, only to be obstructed at the last movement; this makes him vanish from the country. Later he becomes a fugitive of Afghanistan and
