The poem reminds me of the time I spent at my aunt’s farm when I was younger. Early mornings checking for eggs in the chicken coop. Remembering the smell of the outdoors intensified by the morning dew. I remember watching my uncle work in the fields of corn while I tended to the animals. Those days on…
My Brother Sam is Dead is a novel that takes place in the late 1700’s. It is about Sam Meeker, a young man who wants to enlist into the Rebel army and his younger brother Tom, who admires Sam for his bravery and courage. Both of their parents were completely against his decision to fight for the rebels, and many of their neighbors and town citizens were against the rebels. This was a very common situation of this time, as most people were against the Rebels, so anyone who was a supporter was most likely to have drama. Just like when Tim’s father sent him out to town to run errands and he ran into a man who was being rude to him just because his brothers decision and his beliefs. Sam and his parents would often fight and argue due to their opposite beliefs.…
Joseph Stalin was the most ruthless dictator throughout history. The book, Animal Farm written by George Orwell, was an allegory of how Stalin harshly ruled over the Soviet Union from 1929 to 1953. Animal farm follows a group of animals who wanted a utopia and while striving for this goal, made a dystopia. When the animals took over the farm, the leaders became the pigs since they were the most intelligent. Overtime a pig named Napoleon took complete control of Animal Farm using various methods of deception. Napoleon stays in charge of Animal Farm by using Animalism, fear and propaganda.…
Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer have taken charge especially, and they have expanded Old Major’s concept into a “complete system of thought” called Animalism. They hold frequent meetings in the big barn to espouse the views of Animalism to the other farm animals. At first, the animals are not convinced that they should follow Animalism. Some feel loyalty to Mr. Jones, some worry that they cannot be self-sufficient, and others, such as Mollie, worry about losing treats such as sugar and ribbons. Snowball contradicts Mollie, saying that the ribbons are “the badge of slavery” and that “liberty is worth more than ribbons” (37).…
a.) The significance of the allusion to the golden fleece is that the man wanted to keep the ewe as an symbol. First of all, in the Catholic religion, a sheep is considered sacred, so the author made it sound like it was made of gold. This is relevant because people like expensive things, as it is sacred to them. The sheep in this instant is the expensive thing to the man.…

Old Major's speech bubble telling how great it is there is his testament to the presence of the values he wanted the animals to fight for. It appeals to the animals yearning for peace and comfort. The emotional yearning to find perfect society because the pathos of the argument to be a key point of persuasion. It also shows happiness and the animals want to be happy so logically the animals should go there to be happy. The logos and logic the animals might use to better convince themselves to take the leap of faith. Plain Folks and bandwagon are used too.The chickens, sheep, and many others are there which shows that anyone can journey to candy mountain and everyone is going, so the animals should go so they do not get left behind. The FOMO shortcuts the well thought out mind processes and shortcuts to the simplest solution: go there.…
The theme of "Animal Farm" is implied. Throughout my reading, and from what I have read about the book, it is safe to know that the book moves on a parallel with the Russian revolution, and the events afterwards. With that said, the theme is power. Power is constantly shifting throughout the story in some form. In the beginning we are met with the power of Mr. Jones and Old Major. Later on, the power shifts from Mr. Jones and Old Major to all of the animals. The entire story revolves around this pattern of the importance of power. Power, in Animal Farm, allows one group of animals control the others, and manipulate the rules. As well, no matter where you are in the story, power is playing some role or influence on a main…

This is the symbol of the Russian revolution that began in March 8th, 1917. Another example of symbolism is when the Battle of the Cowshed started. This symbolizes the Russian Civil war, which outsetted because a few groups in Russia decided to try out communism, called the Red Army. Finally, the windmill was an example of symbolism. It controverted on whether Russia should spread communism to the rest of world. Some leaders or owners are arrogant. They think they are good at being evil, but in reality, they are nothing. In Animal Farm, Mr. Jones maltreated his animals. Of course, Mr. Jones was also a drunk. Jones is compared to Czar Nicholas II. He was very cruel and beat his animals. However, the cruelness was not just Mr. Jones. Napoleon had a big part in it to. Old Major had a meeting to take out the humans. After Old Major dies, Napoleon and Snowball take over. They are the ones in charge and they make rules and commandments, just like Jesus did. Also, if these commandments were not followed, the animals or animal would be abolished. Who knew so much tyranny could happen on one farm. Rations are reduced again, and the animals are not allowed lanterns in their stalls anymore in order to save oil, except for the pigs and dogs. Also, 31 piglets are born (Napoleon’s).
