First of all, the Retriever is a dog that is stable, loving, eager to please, and gentle. This type of dog loves to give and receive attention also loyal and devoted. Their temperament is excellent as a family pet because, they are playful, affectionate, trustworthy, and sociable. Also there is need for dogs not to venture out of their boundaries where they could get hurt. Due to the mild nature of the Retriever training of this breed can be very easy. They respond best to reward methods and enjoys working for treats and praise. The Retriever will enjoy training when mixed with play time consisting of toys or just plain old fashion fetching. On the other hand, the Malamute may be difficult and need a firm hand, because they can be stubborn. Since this breed loves attention and pleasing their owners, they will understand what is expected of them in the long run.
