There are many problems becoming older. When we become older we become victims of physical, psychological, or other forms of abuse. Aging is a process that involves the breakdown of structures …show more content…
which results in slow functions. The younger generation is so quick to put the older people in nursing homes because they don't have time for them and visit when they have a chance. If you put someone you love in a nursing home you wouldn’t want to see them more often and spend time with them. I do not think that older people get enough of attention from younger people. We also forget about the older generation but without them there would be no younger generation. We have to stop and think about what we say and act towards them and be more patient.
Aging for some people can also be emotional. We have to look at aging as it happens to everyone and as part of the miracle of life. We have to start looking at getting old as a better thing not as a burden as the population often shows it as. I think that the older generation has more to offer and are willing to help if we would just listen to them.
Question #2
There are many means to what quality of life is and how other people around us view it. Quality of life is evaluated on the general well-being of an individual in societies. Quality of life to me is being able to take care of myself the best of my ability. I don’t want someone else to become responsible for me in old age. I wouldn’t want someone to always have to bring me to the doctor or help with everyday things; I want to have an independent life. As long as I am happy and be able to be with the ones I love that’s quality of life to me. I want to be able to go anywhere I want to go and do anything. I don’t want to be held back from an illness or being stuck in a hospital. I want to enjoy life to the fullest. But there comes a time in everyone’s life when they have poor quality of life. The most important things to improve quality of life is having close friends, having a loving relationship with family, socializing with others, and most of all taking care of my health and safety.
I don’t think that there are golden years.
Things happen through a person life good and bad. But I do not think that a certain time in your life is better than another. I think it depends on where you are in life and what age you are. I think golden years are when a person is the happiest they have ever been. I think that the golden years can be for a young adult because they are becoming an adult and trying new things and hopefully had a great college experience. When a person is having a baby and raising that baby that’s their golden years. After a person retires and they can do what they want and when they want. And those people’s concerns are to just live the rest of their lives. So I personally do not think there is an age gap for the golden years. Every new thing in life is …show more content…
special.
Everyone knows that your habits that you are developing now will have an impact on your life later. Starting good eating and staying fit habits now will stick with you for the rest of your life. By eating healthy and making better eating habits will you later down the road than making unhealthy choices. People choice their daily routine and if they don’t think their habits now will affect them they will be in for a big shock. The smallest habits we have impact us. Everyday a person should eat breakfast it helps starts your brain and by starting that habit early in life it will help you once you get older. People who eat breakfast compared to those who don’t are much healthier. These habits need to start when we are children so that they stay with us and so we can work on improving them too. People who exercise are putting themselves less at risk with being overweight or developing illnesses than people who don’t exercise. All these habits developed early will pay off when you are elderly and in your golden years.
Question #4 When it is time for me to retire, I would like to retire to a sunny and warm state. I don’t think personally I will retire until I am forced to. Once I become a certain age I probably won’t work as much. Once I retire I would like to go on vacations to places I may have not been able to due to working. I want to do things with my grandchildren. Like go to the beach, park or play board games and have sleeping overs. These are the things I think I would when I am fully retired. I think an “ideal retirement” would be to have the perfect life and do whatever I want. Having the perfect retirement would be to have good health and still being able to take care of myself. If a person did not have good health they would have limitations to hold them back from the perfect retirement. Also, being able to travel wherever and whenever would be a nice part of the “ideal retirement.” Having the people I love like friends and family around me to make me laugh. My “ideal retirement” would to be able to buy the car of my dreams, helping the less fortunate people and to have my health. During my retirement I think I will do a lot of things and hopefully learn new things.
I like to cook and experiment with new food so I would like to take a cooking class. I will have a lot of time on my hands to do many things. Besides learning new cooking skills I would maybe join a book club, book clubs are a nice way to keep social and active. I would like to volunteer at my church or maybe a daycare center for a couple of hours a day. If during my life I don’t go to Italy I would want that to be my first thing I do once I retire. I don’t think there is anything I wouldn’t do because there would be no reason for me not to experience
it. I believe I will be able to achieve my goals prior to me retiring. My main goal is to be the best teacher I can be. I want to be a special education kindergarten teacher. And help children with needs to be the best that they can be. I would like to retire from being a teacher when I am much older. No, I do not think retirement should be done away with. People I think have a right to enjoy part of their life with no working. If people do not like retirement than they shouldn’t retire. Some people may not agree with if it should or shouldn’t be done away with.
