Goodman Brown Reflection

At the end of the story it is implied that the experience Goodman Brown experienced may have but a dream but no it does not matter if it was a dream or reality because the psychological damage had been done. I do think it was a dream. I think his wife’s name was symbolic of Goodman Brown’s faith dissolving in the experience, be it a dream or not. His faith as a Christian man has been tainted. When he views the church and hears the choir, he is in horror and disbelief. His fear of his fellow Godly worshipers being dually satin worshipers, weighs heavily on his mind and he does want to come close to the church let alone it’s members. The damage spiritually is at it’s high. His experience, a conquest for clarity, has left him even more confused
