There is far more to Google than what meets the eye. In its quest to be the best search engine, Google has been programmed to study you as you use it. It learns what you do and don’t like and provides you with the results that best align with your views. In theory it’s genius, but what happens is people who are at opposite ends of the political views spectrum may receive different articles from the same search. Both of which line up with their individual points of view and reinforce their confirmation bias. Anyone can fall for confirmation bias. I try to be as open-minded and logical as possible, yet I occasionally catch myself discrediting an article I haven’t even read just because it doesn’t line up with my beliefs.
