Gossip in the Media
Aaron Majors is yet another ladies’ man around Spellman. Can you blame him? He’s the kind of guy who knows he looks good. He’s a total flirt and knows just what to say to get a girl weak at the knees. He leaves them as soon as he gets what he wants, though. Even when girls know his rep, they still fall for him. He can be a total jerk, he never seems to care how he treats the girls he’s with, but deep down there’s good in him. He’s a loyal friend, as his best friends and band mates know.

Aaron traveled out to Spellman with Mick Watson, Kyle McKinney, and Marcus Lawson who was the first to come out here. He’s excited to work on their music here and to have the gang back together. These guys are the only ones he really feels comfortable around, who know the real him. They’re the only ones who know what happened with his ex, how she was a complete bitch who openly flirted with his best friends. Due to this, he doesn’t believe in love or really trust girls, hence why he acts the way he does.

Eli is the person you need to go to when you want to have a good time. Give him a joint, you’re his best friend. Give him a bottle of something strong, he’ll marry you. He’s truly a really good guy and his best friend, Luke, will tell you the same thing. No matter how crazy Luke gets, Eli will always be there to pick him up. He’s very loyal and cares a lot about his friends.

He had a picture perfect childhood. At least on the outside, or so it seemed. Picket fence, parents deeply in love… What no one else could see was the abuse that went on. His father was an asshole who put on an act for everyone, but behind closed doors, he abused Eli’s mother and relentlessly picked on his children. Seeing all that growing up really screwed with Eli. He’s never had such a great self esteem from the constant nagging and put downs he got from his dad.

Treyson is loud and obnxious, but tons of fun to be around. He has a sick or perverted sense of humor that everyone can’t

Upon further examination by Eli’s grandmother discovered he had multiple bruises and even apparent cigarette burn all over his body. She pleaded with them to take the boy to a doctor or leave him with her so she could do so. Both Mary and Darren refused and instead went back to their own home. The grandmother called child protective services and a case worker and police officer went to the Creekmore home to investigate. The case worker had Eli taken to the emergency room where Dr Peter Milliken treated him. Dr Milliken stated in a police report that the child’s…

You kissed her!” (10) After time in the Droughtlands Eli gets used to the people and realizes how bad they suffer because of them. At the beginning of the story, Sylvia thinks of her son as just another Ramenzal that will be attending Whitehill and even gives him “number thirty one” (Vonnegut, 2) in the honored list of the Ramenzals who have attended the institution. Sylvia fails to realize that Eli has unique qualities that are different from the rest of the Remenzels until the end of the story. When the Remenzels discover from the headmaster that Eli has not been accepted to the school and realize that Eli has ran away because of the tough situation he got himself into, Sylvia finally recognizes that Whitehill is not the best place for him. This allows Eli to open up and express his feelings comfortably. We see this when Eli expresses his feelings of anger at his father for trying to get him into Whitehill, for he realizes he will not succeed there. He says, “You shouldn’t have done that” (Vonnegut, 12). At the point that he is recognized as an individual, he is ultimately able to mature through his new ability to express himself without being intimidated.…

In the first few chapters Junior explains about his relationship with his friend Rowdy and what it is like hanging out with him, “Rowdy isn’t a fast reader, but he’s persistent. And he’ll just laugh and laugh at the dumb jokes, no matter how many times he’s read the same comic. I like the sound of Rowdy’s laughter” (Alexie 23). On Thanksgiving day, Junior went over to deliver a cartoon for Rowdy because he missed him, “Rowdy’s dad took the cartoon and stared at it for a while. Then he smirked. ‘your kind of gay, aren’t you?’ he asked. ‘Can you just give it to him?’ I asked. ‘Yeah, I’ll give it to him. Even if it’s a little gay’” (Alexie 103). They have both been best friends for a really long time, when Junior finally decides to tell Rowdy he was leaving the rez, Rowdy didn’t take it easy on him, “My heart broke into fourteen pieces, one for each year that Rowdy and I had been best friends. I started crying. That wasn’t surprising at all, but Rowdy started crying too, and he hated that” (Alexie 52). Even though Rowdy was a hot head around others this was one of many of the examples that he was very caring towards…
