Grace Home Case Study

The name of the placement is Grace House Incorporated. Grace House is located on 236 Millsap’s Ave. Jackson, MS 39202. Furthermore, Grace House is homeless shelter that serve HIV/ AIDS patients. Their goal is to prevent homeless and to rehabilitate individuals toward using basic life skills. Also, their objective is educate individual’s living with HIV/AIDS, how to continue living a healthy life. Grace House desire is to prepare each person with fundamentals, such as; balancing money, coping with illness and working and non-working requirements, if the individual receive benefits.

I am currently responsible for filling out intake forms for individual’s that require the services for Grace House. Filing paper is a part of my daily task. However, if the day is slow, I visit with clients, answer phones and make appointments for clients. I attend events that is focused around HIV/AIDS.
On the other hand, Grace House host health fairs throughout the community. They supply individuals with condoms, lubrication and pamphlet informing men and women about HIV/AIDS. Grace House collaborate with multiple organizations, such as; Stewpot, New Dementions an MS Housing. Each organization is utilized through referrals for housing. The University Medical Center assist with medication and education for the clients. Similarly, the clients are involved with the above organizations as a shared
African American is the majority of Grace House, which is approximately ninety five percent. Every individual that enters Grace House is homeless. Their income is below the poverty rate. Grace House provide special services for women and men with HIV/AIDS. Currently, the ages range from nineteen and seventy. Most of the clients entering Grace House struggled with alcohol and drug abuse. Concerning this, the organization distributed services to individual that have more than one diagnosis. Clients that identify as male, female or Transgender. Also, they do not discriminate against cultures, but there is an age requirement. Grace House does not service children. They only house adults.
Furthermore, when I first enter Grace House, I was frightened because I felt I might offend someone, but not purposely done. I reflected on thoughts of potentially contracting HIV/AIDS through having an open wound and not realizing it existed. Scared to consume food, they have prepared and turning them down.
