Grace Wexler's Murder In The Westing Game By Ellen Raskin
The Westing Games In the book The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin, Sam Westing is murdered. Out of all the heirs Grace Wexler stands out. Grace is always where the bombs go off. Grace also loves money this gives her a motive to kill Sam Westing. This makes Grace the most likely suspect. Admittedly it might seem like Grace Wexler is sweet and carefree in life. However she once said to Angela that she would do anything for her with that she could possibly want to help her daughter with wealth in life and kill for the cause. For instance Grace Wexler could have availability of having inheritance funds if she killed Sam Westing. With this in mind if she had the inheritance funds she could give her daughter them. Grace Wexler also could be the murderer …show more content…
However Grace Wexler may not seem like the suspect but she has the opportunity and motive to kill. Grace has the opportunity because she is a resident at Sun Hill Towers that would give her the opportunity to go to the westing house and murder Sam Westing. Grace Wexler is snoopy and could easily point people against others through gossip. James Shin Hoo also couldn't have killed him because he is to focused on his restaurant. Bertha Crow couldn't be the murder because she is to shy to even talk to most, I can't see her committing murder. Finally Grace Wexler is almost too innocent. Grace Wexler is willing to do anything as long as it benefits her and her family. For example, she gets a job, she wouldn't have to do that if her and her family had money to spend. She is always away when something set up is happening or she is doing something unsuspicious. She also could have planted things in people's home being an “interior decorator.” In conclusion Grace Wexler has many things pointing against her and the evidence make her the suspect everyone is looking

There are many assumptions about how killed and JonBen`et and why. But If I had to pick a guilty party base on the facts of the case I would conclude that the murders would be the Father John and the mother Patricia. The author Biography (2017) highlights some key facts of physical evidence that point to the father and mother. The First factual piece of evidence is the Ransom note that was written. Handwriting experts tested the father and the mother, and the mother’s test proved inconclusive. Consequently, a practice note was also found in the home. Secondly, the duct tapes that was placed over JonBen`et mouth contained fabric from the mother’s clothes. The Third piece of evidence is the coroner report. The coroner report states that JonBen`et died of blunt force trauma to the head and then she was strangled.…

Abigail Williams, a misfit archetype from the 17th century, has experiences and qualities that can be associated with the 20th and 21st centuries. Throughout this time, people have done things to get another person, who happens to be some type of enemy, into trouble. An example of this during the 20th century were the McCarthy Trials. During this time, Americas were accusing each other of being Communist spies who were trying to gather information to give back to Russia. Neighbors, friends, and family who didn't like each other were accusing and being accused. The McCarthy trials can be related to Abigail Williams…

While reading the book A Death In Texas by Dina Temple-Raston, I found many differences in our current society compared to Jasper just a decade ago. While reading this book I noticed right away how certain parts of Texas are segregated, including Jasper. I understand that the location does make a difference. Here in Washington there wasn’t a lot of diversity a century ago and we were a lot like the 1998 Jasper. Our “Other” or “Them” were the Chinese. Whereas, just a decade ago, in Jasper, the police department was lenient towards hate crimes and didn’t care if they occurred until Sheriff Rowles was elected. He was colorblind and believed in justice for all. When the murder of James Byrd occurred in 1998 it changed everything in Jasper and drew the attention of the entire United States.…

Don't lie to hail she comes to me while I sleep she's always making me dream corruptions."page 1091" The crucible is in the astonishing play about the history of Salem and witchcraft. This play is a story from past time, Abigail Williams is a huge part of this play because of her scheming ways to put people to death as you can see from the previous quote I listed, this was one of her many lies. Many different people play a role in the Salem deaths but Abigail started all and kept playing it off until she killed in abundant amount. Abigail is responsible for numerous deaths that occurred during this time. Due to her falsely accusing goody Proctor, threatening the girls to take part in her lies, and her admission to guilt by leaving Salem. Abigail is most to blame as a result of her extremely persuasive ways that involve threats towards the rest of the girls which made them start blaming people for witchcraft and they lied about all the things that they were accused of.…

The first reason Abigail Williams is to blame for the deaths of those during the witch hunts is jealousy. Abigail is lustful of John Proctor, which ultimately begins the hysteria in this play. Although John made an attempt to tell Abigail that the affair is over, she still desperately tried to keep the romance alive. This is shown when John Proctor states, “Abby, I may think of you softly from time to time. But I will cut off my hand before I’ll ever reach for you again” (Miller 23). Because of this jealousy, there is a lot of tension between Abigail Williams and Elizabeth Proctor, John’s wife. Abigail tried to kill Elizabeth with a curse because she thought that if Elizabeth were dead John would marry her.…

Leading a multitude of people to find the "truth" about a village's most respected townspeople is Abigail Williams. She was the finger that accused dozens of people, who in all likelihood were innocent of the crimes brought against them. Abigail was not the single candle that showed the judges of Salem the way but merely the candle that lit the others. Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" makes Abigail the conveyance of everything the Puritans would have thought as evil. She had committed sins that made any upright citizen flinch at the mere mention of them. All this appalling information about Abigail makes a person stop and wonder what her motive was. Was she merely being selfish or is there a deeper meaning hidden beneath all the layers she is covering her past with?…

She participates in infidelity and constructs a web of lies. She knows that it is a sin to have sex with a married man but continues to proclaim her love for him, “I will not, i cannot! You loved me, John Proctor, and whatever sin it is you love me yet!” (The Crucible, Act 1). In A Break with Charity one of the main antagonists, Ann Putnam, leader of the witch trials, could only think about herself throughout the entire book. She ruined many lives, by convicting the innocent of witchcraft. She believes “The elders are looking for someone to blame. We will give them many someones… the elders will be glad to know the bickering and trouble in this place lies not at their own feet but is the fault of witches living among us” (Ranaldi 26). In this passage, it allows the reader to understand that Ann is confident about her lies and likes to take control of situations she can manipulate because she enjoys watching her victims struggle. In Order to keep that power, she decides to do the worst thing and that is afflicting others of witchcraft, but of course she does not care because it does not affect her, supporting the fact why lying is not justifiable. A similar character to Ann is, Abigail Williams from the Crucible, because she is the leader of all the lies as well. Abigail convinces people to do her dirty work for her, but she only worries about protecting herself, so she does not care if these lies affect any of her so called “friends”. In the following text, Mary Warren, one of Abigail's friends, is struggling to decide whether to disobey Abigail by not following her story or to tell the truth about her evil…

Women and men perceive things differently. The men perceive the killer to be cruel because they cannot find a motive. They are searching for some reason someone would kill John, because they need “Something to show -something to make a story about – a thing that would connect up with this strange way of doing it (776).” They are looking for solid, tangible evidence to link Minnie to the crime. They overlook the small, but significant, clues that tell the real story. Mrs. Peters tells Mrs. Hale that the men need “something to show anger, or -sudden feeling (771.)” They are looking for something more obvious like abuse or alcoholism, but according to Mrs. Hale, John did not drink. Mr. Hale even tells the County Attorney that John “never cared what his wife wanted (768),” but that does not faze him. The kitchen is in a mess and that is blamed on bad housekeeping, instead of being used as evidence. The clues are all there for them, but they do not see them.…
