Graduate Study Challenges and Strategies Returning to obtain a higher level of education is not a decision to take lightly. There exist many challenges one must reason and overcome to be successful. What works to the potential student’s advantage is to come up with a plan of action. Possessing a clear goal in mind will help to direct the path to take. Next, do the required research for fiancial support looking at the cost of higher education and how it fits into current lifestyles. Finally, develop good time management skills. Prior to entering graduate school, develop an objective plan of action. Set forth a way to support reaching goals. Compose a list that will aid in the ability to study and take time out to review periodically the set course of action. Be clear in knowing that to reach the set goal of obtaining your advanced degree, have a concise and well planned path of action. Those that will be around you and become successful will have solid plans in mind on how to reach their goals. According to Woolcock (2007), instructors with one area of background education can be identified as an issue associated with reaching obtainable goals for graduate study. This can leave the student believing they are trapped. To help eliviate the entrapment belief, graduate programs should be aim to aid one in reaching their goals. Challenges are concomitant with everything in life and graduate study is not isolated from them. The decision to choose which degree works for you will be a top challenge (Aggarwal, 2010). Making this decision will then guide you to a list of institutions to choose from. Look at the fees associated with your program of choice (Aggarwal, 2010). Often this is a limiting factor and is of paramont consideration. Your time availablity is very important (Aggarwal, 2010). With an increasing number of people returning to school that
