I thank god every day and night for giving me the privilege of letting me meet my grandfather for the nine last yet most memorable years of his life. Someone who has made my emotions rise high and drop low, one who has proven me the impossible. The women who has proven to me what it truly is to never give up, one who has gone through so much and keep fighting, my grandmother. Someone more like a second mother to us, who I cherish every single minute that passes. She is my treasure in life. I will forever be…
During my high school years, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was horrible news to hear, especially since my mother has been such an influential figure in my life. In addition to this, my father was depressed during this time because of his unemployment and my mother’s cancer diagnosis. My mother was the only source of income for our family, so she went to work throughout her the pain from her chemotherapy. I was distraught from my mother’s illness, but I was expected to take on more household responsibilities so that my mother could rest when she got home from work. I was expected to help shop, clean, and take care of my younger sister by helping her with her homework. These responsibilities in addition to keeping up with my school work made this situation an extremely stressful time for me.…
I grew up in a single-parent household and my mother helped me to work hard in school and taught me the many ways to deal with making difficult decisions when need be. However, things became more difficult for both my mother and I when tragedy struck our family when I was nine. My sister was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and this meant that I had to learn to cope and help my mother cope while also working hard in school. It…
“Keep your eye open to your mercies. The man who forgets to be thankful has fallen asleep in life.” There are so many things to be thankful for in life, big and small. I am thankful for my grandparents, my dogs and cat, and my mom. I am thankful for them because of everything they do for me.…
These past few years have been very difficult but we are still managing to get through this. Family and friends are always there for me and they always will be. My Papa has impacted my life in such a powerful way. He is my favorite person in the whole world, nobody compares to him. The past few years since he was diagnosed with alzheimer's has been the life changing moment in time that has shaped me into who I am today. I follow everything he has told me he has so many memorable stories that I will never forget; he has taught me everything I need to know and I could not be thankful enough for…
Family, friends, feast and football. Sound an awful lot like Thanksgiving? Yet, a peculiar aura surrounds Thanksgiving. Often, it is the ONE-day multitudinous people express their gratitude to God and each other.…
Thanksgiving means to me is when family gets together and talk and make comical jokes. My family has abundant amount of food.We say what we thankful for. I mostly say that I thankful for my family, school, clothes, and food and water. My grandpa is callous when we yell, play games to loud.…
I take many material things for granted that give me enjoyment such as my laptop, iPod, iPhone, my trainer, and a gym membership. I am thankful to have a great trainer and a gym membership so I can get big, bulky, lean, cut, in shape, and to get ready for my competition in May. Also, other thing that I can’t for granted is having my own car to drive to school and take out on the weekend to have some fun or hang out with friends. I am grateful for not having to work and have a job to help support my family. I am grateful for my mom because of all the things and work she does around the house and help out the family as much as she can. She keeps the family rolling/going and always remembers everything when everyone doesn’t have no idea about things. I am grateful for my dad and how much hard work he puts into his farm to give support and good living for the family. I help my mom and dad as much as I can because I will never be able to pay them back for all the things they have done for me. I try to help my family as much as possible to keep it going even when I like it or not. I am grateful to be an bodybuilder and other things I do because I am in good health/shape and be a normal…
First, my family is the main thing I am thankful for. One of the reasons I am thankful for them is because I would not be in this world today without them. Another reason is they tell me old stories about when they were little, and I learn how they had to live. The last reason is because, when we all get together for a party there is always something to do and something to laugh about.…
When you are thankful you not only thinking of others but your taking time to thank God. I am thankful for many things in my life and I was lucky enough to obtain these spectacular grandparents,…
Being thankful is one of the most important things in the world. It shows what you appreciate in your life and how you appreciate it. I am thankful for shelter, clean water, and freedom.…
First and foremost, I am grateful for my family. On occasion I complain about their antics, but I truly appreciate all that they have done for me. My parent's generosity has paid for my college, and my siblings are always there for me. Additionally I would like to include my animals because they continually make me smile every day. The dogs constantly wag their tails even when they are being scolded, and watching the turkeys run like dinosaurs is quite amusing. Another noteworthy thing to mention is today’s entertainment. Spending time with family and friends, watching a movie or playing a video are some of the best parts of my weekend. All of this and more I am grateful for; but I think the greatest gift I am thankful for is being alive to…
I’m thankful for reconnecting with a little sweet heart names Jennifer this year. On the first day of school when I saw her in math class I learned we had every single class together. So we stuck together like gum ever since. I also got a car a few weeks ago which I cannot complain about. We choose our own destiny and I believe in faith. I still have a whole lot to look forward to this year like prom, track season, and graduation. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how my senior year will…
I became exceedingly grateful for the relationships I had formed with people that I knew I could rely on. This also empowered me to not be afraid of removing the people in my life that were not there for the right reasons. Since I was little, my mom taught me to stand up for myself and not let anyone walk over me, while at the same time being gentle and loyal. My mom has raised a compassionate and understanding yet incredibly strong and determined young girl, and it is from watching her be completely whole and satisfied with herself because she wasn’t reliant on anyone else. My mom has shown me that everyone has different stories, different backgrounds, and I should be forgiving and genuine towards all peoples. My mom has made me ambitious and proud because she never gave up, even when everything in front of us seemed impossible. My mom has made me dedicated and brave because she always pushed herself to be better. My mom has made me the person I am today and has impacted me in such a way that I am so unbelievably grateful…
It’s not so easy being grateful since it’s really hard to be happy with what you already have and realizing how lucky you are to have them. I honestly wasn’t grateful for anything, I thought I never had enough, I always wanted more. Till the day came that reality slapped me across the face and helped me open my eyes to something’s I thought I would never notice. I didn’t learn to be grateful all by myself, I had the help of an amazing friend that and I’m glad she came around because if it was for her, I’d still be the same old ignorant person I used to be.…
