back to photo #2, we can see that there are many unemployed middle class men standing in line to sign up for jobs, as well with photo 4 with the 2 men walking with suitcases in their hands, people began to leave and try looking for better jobs, a better place to live, and even a better life style. Furthermore, most people struggled during and after the great depression with hunger, homelessness, sadness, depression, and much more.
According to photo #1 what it looks to be hoover-vills people who lost their homes and jobs were now living in their cars in very poor areas with no clean water or food and not even the minimal supply’s, although there were soup places that were giving out free soup, they had no stability for themselves or their family. In fact, some people committed suicide due to these problems. As well, with many family’s selling their youngest child to a wealthy family not for the money, but to provide their children with a better future. Eventually crime and violence started to occur more frequently during this time. Women began to prostitute themselves to pay their bills, people became desperate for many they began to steal from places to put food on the table for their family. Many veterans were unemployed since the beginning of the great depression so when it officially came into place they had, they started to demand cash payment redemption for their service which caused a riot between the veterans against the police because there was no money to give them. As a result, the great depression was a huge event in history that will never be forgotten due to all the impacts it left to the people and the economy, although there were programs and organizations that helped the great depression, some problems were still
unsolved.
