A hero whom the Greeks looked up to was Perseus, because of his perseverance and his respect for the Gods and elders. The Greeks valued those traits because they don’t respect people just giving up so easily. They also valued because it was a good thing to respect your elders and Gods in their time because it meant you were good of heart. Perseus’s life as a child was rough and he was condemned from living a normal life, but this did not stop him. When his mother, the woman who cared for him and he loved, was being forced to marry a foul man, he stood up and said he would go kill the evil gorgon, Medusa. From day one Theseus vividly showed his traits of hard work from being determined day after day to move a rock to see his father, to choosing a harder path in the woods so that he could prove himself and be ready for harder tasks. We value hard work today which you can tell by for our appreciation in people who graduate college. Even many jobs require for you to be able to work hard like in construction you have to do much hard labor work. Theseus was only a man, but he was still a great hero. He was always going on adventures and never lacking in hard work to achieve greatness. He even gave up his leadership and made it so people could vote for their leader while still maintaining the job of commander in chief which he earned greatly.. People in 2016 would love this because they love a story of someone who works hard for the well being of others, even if he's the son of a king. An example of that is a man named Mark Cuban who was born a rich guy, but instead of just being a snob about it he made an amazing basketball stadium with affordable prices and invests his money into other companies and charities.
