Grievance Appeal Definition
In your grievance filed at Stiner Unit, you claim the fire alarm in your housing area does not work. You further assert the emergency exits are not clearly marked and there is no evacuation plan in the event of a fire. Your resolution is to repair or replace all required fire safety equipment.

Your grievance appeal has been reviewed at Central Office and the Warden's response is affirmed. The Department of Corrections has established safety procedures to protect the public, staff and inmates by ensuring that facilities are operated and managed consistently following fire and life safety codes, and General Industry Standards for Construction and General Industry as adopted by the regulatory bodies of the state.
