Guerin And Northside High School Analysis
High School is a very important step in our life. It is one more step closer to becoming a young adult. If we did not have high schools, we would not be able to fully mature and have the knowledge to become a student in a university or a college. Of course, there are many high schools to choose from. The high schools we have chosen today is Guerin College Preparatory and Northside College Preparatory. Guerin College Preparatory is a private school, and Northside College Preparatory is public. Our prefered high school is Guerin College Preparatory.

We feel that there should be a practice test for all private school entrance exams. This could really help the students refresh in their academics. Having a practice test could help the percentage of people who enter these schools. “The latest five-year graduation rate is 73.5 percent, CPS said. The rate has been rising steadily over the past five years, according to district figures, and in 2014-15 was 69.9 percent.”(Jr., Juan Perez, and Kyle Bentle. “Chicago Public Schools Touts Improved Graduation Rate.” ) This shows that public schools have been improving in academics. Public schools also have a practice entrance exam that could help the amount of students who enter. According to “Private School vs. Public School Breakdown.” Niche, it says in the article that private high schools are known to produce higher standardized test scores, causing parents and students to want to enter private schools.
Guerin and Northside are very similar, but yet very different schools. Guerin is a private school and could have a better curriculum than other public schools. Northside is public school but also is very difficult to enter, because of the slight increase in public school graduates Northside does have a lot more potential. Our final decision would have to be Guerin College Preparatory. We feel that because private schools are known for better standardized test scores and a better curriculum we feel that Guerin should be our number one
