Gun Control Issues
Gun Control is one of the most controversial issues in the world today. Although gun control has always been a sensitive topic, the recent uprisings in gun related crimes have made it a nearly impossible issue for citizens to agree on. Over the past decade, crimes involving the use of firearms have been very erratic. Only recently have the crimes become more severe and consistent. Guns instill fear in people everywhere because of how powerful they can truly be. Whether a gun is used to take down a criminal on the loose, or to kill an ex-boyfriend, they can cause great harm to many with just the pull of a trigger. Safety, self-defense, and fear are the main reasons that gun control is still being disputed today.
There are many components to go along with gun control. Safety is obviously a big concern for everybody when it comes to the use of guns. Sometimes people are so into the moment that they lose sight of what they’re really doing when shooting another human being. A gun can take the life of a person in the blink of an eye. A gun can ruin a family’s happiness as it did for many families In Newton, Connecticut not too long ago. A gun can very well take the life of the very person using the weapon. Overall, guns can cause serious damage both emotionally and physically for anybody. The only problem when talking about safety with guns, is that there are various reasons involving the uses of guns. Parents don’t want their kids to be harmed, but soldiers want to protect their country. Shop owners don’t want to be robbed at gunpoint, but a person that lives out in the wilderness needs a gun for self-defense. The list goes on and on, but the bottom line is that guns can have a positive or negative impact on someone depending on the circumstances. Sometimes people buy guns with good intentions, such as hunting, target practice, etc., but hasn’t the proper training to safely use a gun, and
