Firstly, the rights to own guns should be controlled as they have the power to kill, to inflict damage. Instead of “being necessary to the security of the state”, it is contributing to the unknown dangers of the state. People are not using the guns that they are given the right to own to protect themselves, but rather to hurt others.There have been many incidents where there are people who have managed to gain possession of guns and caused deaths of many innocent people. For instance, Adam Lanza, where he single-handedly gunned down 20 children, and 6 adult staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Although the reasons behind his killing spree is unknown, he has caused harm and killed innocent victims with the weapon he had, guns. If he did not have the guns, I seriously doubt that he would have been able to take down so many people. Hence, gun are detrimental to society and should be controlled since they can cause harm to innocent people.
Next, having the right to own guns may disrupt public order, defeating its original purpose that allows the citizens to possess guns in the first place.
