These Latin American civilizations learned to plant corn and beans, they also domesticated llamas, short ear dogs, alpaca, guinea pigs, and turkeys which are endemic. They used these domesticated animals as a food source, wool, protection, and a labour force. The Incas, Aztecs and the Mayans were large powerful civilizations that had conquered large parts of South America through war. If these civilizations were so powerful within their nations then why were the Spanish conquistadors able to destroy these empires and killed numerous of these people.
