The phenomenon seems to have brought the distinctive change in the use of some public places, particularly Gwanghwamun Square, as the square has become the representative place for the peaceful place with the use of candlelight and cultural events as tools. This study will focus on the analysis of the relation between public squares and the social phenomenon which could be a sort of 'text' itself in discourse. This study will apply the method of Critical Discourse Analysis to explore the meaning of Heterotopias and its function, and to find ideology in Gwanghwamun Square. It will find the social ideology and implication hidden in the relation between power, ideology and social action which all could cause a conflict between the opposite social groups of people.
