Research has been done on CAH and results have shown that girls with CAH act more like a boy. They are more interested in masculine toys such as trucks while girls without are more interested in playing with dolls. Firstly, gastric banding involves the placement of an adjustable ring around the top of the stomach while gastric bypass is a technique that reduces the size of the stomach and reattaches the small intestine (Le Roux et al., 2006), which means there is no stapling of the digestive tract involved in gastric banding. Also, the adjustable ring used in gastric banding surgery is fully reversible, the amount of food that patients are able to consume before achieving a feeling of fullness can be changed postoperatively by adjusting the ring, it can even be removed so the stomach will return to its normal shape (Ogden, 2005). In contrast, during…

Genetics determine the traits an individual will inherit from their parents. In society today, the role of genetics is crucial; they decide ones physical appearance as well as their personality. Cyclothymic disorder, also known as cyclothymia, is a relatively mild form of bipolar II disorder characterized by mood swings that may appear to be almost within the normal range of emotions. These mood swings range from mild depression, or dysthymia, to mania of low intensity, or hypomania. It is possible for cyclothymia to go undiagnosed, and for individuals with the disorder to be unaware that they have a treatable disease. Individuals with cyclothymia may experience episodes of low-level depression, known as dysthymia; periods of intense energy, creativity, and/or irritability, known as hypomania; or they may alternate between both mood states. Like other bipolar disorders, cyclothymia is a chronic illness characterized by mood swings that can occur as often as every day and last for several days, weeks, months, or as long as two years. Individuals with this disorder are never free of symptoms of either hypomania or mild depression for more than two months at a time (Encyclopedia of Mental Disorders).…
