Operation Pied Piper started september 1st 1939 to June 1945. The operation officially ended in 1946. This action was planned in 1938. The objective was to secure children in the countryside from the air raids threatening to commence. The Luftwaffe was approaching from East and the West forming what eventually became the Battle of Britain. The main area being evacuated was the main city of the United Kingdom, London. Children evacuated will not see their parents for long stretches of time. The only fortunate thing that ceased a troop and armored vehicle invasion that would burn the city to rubble was the English Channel. Hitler’s tactics would be to weaken the RAF (Royal Air Force) and the Royal Navy and to send ships to aid the attack and to take the UK, however Hitler's tactics to take Britain did not succeed leading to the defeat of the Luftwaffe in Britain. This was the turning point as Hitler's fighting force started to be pushed out of france and Denmark and leading to fighting in their homeland. Before this happened however, the German army was pushing it’s way through europe and dominating most of europe. Children in Britain were…

On May 1, 1915, the Lusitania, a luxury, British ocean liner set sail out of New York, bound for Liverpool. Captain Turner read the paper earlier that morning appending that the Germans made an admonitory stating that they had submarines in the Atlantic that haven’t given their location. Nobody was worried, as everyone presumed that the Lusitania was the safest, most sturdy ship ever built! Only two people canceled due to the warning. Captain Turner had nothing to be worried about, so he thought. Before seafaring, family and friends were allowed on the ship to say their farewells to the passengers. After beginning the voyage, everyone began to get settled in. First class passengers had tons of suitcases full of heirlooms and expensive items.…

When I was a middle school student, I cared too much about my appearance so, I watched a movie Shallow Hal. In the movie, there is a superficial man who always judges other people’s appearance. When he was young, his father passed away and father’s will become his principle in life. Inspired by his father’s will: ‘Hot young tail. That’s what it’s all about’, the father made Hal promise to date only beautiful women. One day, he met an American life coach Tony Robbins and the life coach enabled him to see a beauty inside by hypnotizing Hal. After that, he met a Rose who is slender and beautiful trophy blonde and he started to date her. However, his friend, Mauricio confessed that Hal was hypnotized by Tony Robbins. Hal began to see Rose’s truth that she didn't have any attractive aspect and leaves Rose. The ending of this story is that he realized his true love for Rose and begs for mercy and they reconcile. This movie is a very good example that depicts frankly how we discriminate people because of their height and weight.…

On January 9th, 1917, Chancellor Bethmann Hollweg announced the use of unrestricted submarine warfare. Hollweg decided that the policy of a wholesale-unrestricted attack might keep America out of the war. Due to the weakness of the country at the moment, their best line of defense would be through these unrestricted attacks. Americas “neutral ships” had been moving across the Atlantic bringing in supplies for the allies. This brought Hollweg to the conclusion to use U- boats and use this zone of the Atlantic to sink the ships. Germany later decided to start a commerce war against any nation who traded with Britain. An intense note sent by America informed Germany that they would be held responsible for any sunken ships. Germany angered America,…
