The bombing was only about 2 miles away from the first bomb site. Once again no one claimed responsibility, and there was no reason why the Gonzales family was targeted. Police at the time had no idea if it was the same bomber that tried to kill them or if it was a copy cat who had hurd of the most recent bomb. The to detonation devices in Grand Junction Colorado where highly sophisticated explosives. Each use a 9 volt battery that was placed on a vehicle and then went off when the vehicle moved. In the rubble, investigators found pieces of curved glass, the outer shell of a mercury switch. It’s a hair triggered device. They figured that the bomber would have hand carried it from his home to the target vehicle. Investigators searched their files for anyone who had prior arrests from making explosive devices. One was 19-year-old Shannon Keith, a factory worker, who lived just ten minutes outside of town in Clifton. He had been arrested 5 months earlier for possessing pipe bombs and was sentenced to two months probation. He claimed that his wasn’t in Grand Junction when the bombs were plated and his alibi checked out, so he was eliminated

On April 15, 2013 I remember hearing from Mr. Ham that the Boston marathon had been bombed at the finish line. The only knowledge I had of this incident before I read about it— was that it was a terrorist attack. After reading this article explaining about the convictions of the two terrorists Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, there isn’t any sort of bias that I can see going on in this topic. Although the author doesn’t have her own argument about the situation, she talks about the dispute between the terrorists and the prosecutors and the jury. The prosecutors and the jury came to the conclusion that Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, were found guilty.…

The sight remains with the Enola Gay at the National Air and Space Museum 's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Washington DC. On August 9th, 1945, Kermit Beahan, the bombardier on the Bockscar, another B-29, used a Norden to release "Fatman" over Nagasaki from 31,000 feet. Due to heavy cloud cover, this mission was almost completed using an early radar sight. At the last second though, the clouds opened up just enough to drop the bomb using the Norden (Miller,…

Overall, the Allied strategic bombing of Germany proved to be highly significant in the Second World War. By the end of the war, it was very significant in hindering the German economy forcing Germany to redirect resources away from the war effort and instead, investing in the reconstruction of damaged buildings and roads caused by the bombings. It was also very significant at relieving pressure at the Eastern front which is where the war was won by the dominant Russian force. It was less significant in terms of reducing German morale because even though morale was dented, ultimately, this did not play a part in the Allies winning the war. Much of the international relations improved throughout the war but broke down very quickly in 1944 and…

Indications and warnings of an event to come are pushed aside for a myriad of reasons. A reason an individual, or a collective group of individuals, might ignore an indicator(s) is simply because there is a pre-conceived notion in place regarding a particular situation and/or group. A good example might be the buildup to the bombing of the marine barracks, in Beirut, Lebanon, in late October of 1983. In a case study conducted on the Beirut barracks bombing, it was noted that of the key indicators, "Signs of growing hostility", was ignored leading to what the FBI termed as the “largest conventional blast” they had ever seen (Shreeve and Wysocki 2004, 14). Thankfully, France got the picture and was…
