Stay at home mom’s have always been a stereo type, the women stay at home while the men go out to work to provide for the family. Now in the present day women do just as much as men in our society, women are definitely perceived as intelligent and hard working people. Women have come a long way in the general public and deserve to be treated just as well as the men, and should also be given a equal chance in the world and not be discriminated or talked down upon. Despite the fact that this is not an issue that is world wide, it still exists. Which brings me to the research question for my essay: Why in some parts of Africa has the stereotype for women staying home and taking care of the house and family not gone away? African women do not deserve to be portrayed as just people who stay at home and take care of the family and the house while the men get an education or go out and do all the work. African women deserve to be portrayed as other educated women who do great things with their lives, ones who give men a challenge in the work field. Fraser-Moleketi stated this in his article, which is very concerning because the women are doing all of the hard labor but in the end the men are getting all the credit then the women are just being used behind the scenes to get the work done. In the article by Wainaina she states how women must look
