Hallelujah Day Speech
Good morning and thank you for attending yesterday’s meeting. During the meeting, there was a miscommunication of information about Hallelujah night that I want to address.
As stated, families with a last name starting with A-E will be bringing drinks, F-J will be bringing cups, K-O has deserts and P-T will bring snacks like chips or fruit. When I was announcing who would bring what, I misspoke and said that U-W will be bringing drinks. Since the drinks category is covered, people with the last name U-W will instead bring cups, plates, or ice.
There has also been in a change in volunteer arrival time. The event will still be starting at 7 o’clock but the volunteer team members now have a new call time of 5 o’clock instead of 6 o’clock. This

The memorable quote "All gave some...Some gave all" really describes the emotion all of us as Americans should have towards our flag. Memorial Day is a tribute to those who died for our country. We use our flag to honor them by decorating their graves. If that doesn't show the honor that comes along with our flag, nothing…

Prayer- Father God in heaven, it is once again that you have allowed me to stand behind the sacred desk and breathe the breath of life one more time. God I thank you that you will allow these your people to witness your awesome power. God I ask right now in the name of Jesus, that you would make every heart in this room that has not fully accepted you, uncomfortable so that through this message, you can speak to their heart and have them surrendering to your will and your way. God I know that this is youth day but lord help me to preach YOUR WORD to the young as well as the young at heart. Then God I ask that you will put Minister Lee in his seat and that you will rise inside of me, using me as a conduit to reach your children, with the aid of the Holy Spirit leading and guiding. Then God I ask by the authority of your word that you help me set the captives free, heal the broken hearted, and help the blind receive sight so that they may see their way through the storm, in Jesus’ immaculate we do pray. AMEN…

It’s not that easy being green. It’s not that easy being a frog, either. Some would say that he is the most awesome amphibian of all time. Others would proclaim him a puppet above the rest. His name and footprints are on a star at Grauman’s Chinese Theater, a rare honor given only to the best in Hollywood. It’s an even greater leap for an amphibian. You guessed it. I am here today to honor Kermit the Frog, a well-mannered, always positive, funny, frog who left the life of a quiet, peaceful swamp in the bayou to take on the world with his green philosophy. To some Kermit is an icon of hope for a greener, cleaner world, and to others he is an inspiration towards acceptance and kindness to his fellow creatures on Earth. To ALL who have ever heard Kermit speak or sing, he is the voice of wisdom and encouragement when they just need a smile.…

Today we are celebrating your Bar-Mitzvah, the time that they call the “acceptance of all the mitzvot.” As your older brother, I can tell you that its not the easiest part of growing up, but Dad would want me to say that you must always work your best to realize the importance of being a Jew and too love judaism. In celebrating your Bar Mitzvah this shabbos, and going on in life, you must always remember the core of who you are as a jew and what you represent. As I watch you grow and become a man, I think about who you are already. Your spirit and enthusiasm for life is something that was innate to you since you were born, and you must use that excitement for life forever. The most…

    Speech On Thanksgiving

    • 270 Words
    • 2 Pages

On Thanksgiving we gather with our family and friends, thinking that we are celebrating everything that we are grateful for and giving thanks to that. We do this by sitting around a large table of smiling faces with a big, hot, succulent, golden brown turkey in the center that went through a horribly miserable death, just to get on our plates in time so we could celebrate our good times through its worst. First, I would like to talk about my own experience. Getting time to spend with my family is one of the greatest traditions, and I am so thankful for that. For having to work long hours and going to school, and everyone else having such a busy schedule. Find that time to have every family member gathers around the table and enjoy a wonderfully…

It’s almost the time of year when we stuff ourselves full and be grateful. Y should know what holiday I’m describing-Thanksgiving! The speaker is Steve Scoggins who is the preacher at First Baptist Church of Opelika. The setting was in a big white church with several members. We were greeted with big smiles and the church bulletin. My family and I sat in the balcony like most Sunday mornings. We sang hymns and songs and prayed the Lord’s Prayer before we heard the message. It was an early father’s day morning. The weather was beautiful with a few clouds insight. Pastor Steve spoke for about thirty minutes. The audience was full of people of all ages. It was filled with families that love the Lord. The audience was very attentive and responsive. The speaker is full of knowledge of the bible. He attended college and has a degree. He continues to study books of the bible every day. He was dressed nice wearing a button-up shirt, jacket and dress shoes. He delivered the speech in a very informative but timely manner. The message he gave the audience was full of clarity and very well organized. He stated three main points of the message and explained further in detail. Pastor Steve Scoggins told the audience personal stories and advice that everyone could relate to. He was very personable and easy to listen to. The pastor spoke to many hearts and I believe he reached out to several souls that were listening. Over the years his real job has come with many different titles. For 50 years he has been a son and brother, for 31 he has been a loving father, for 26 he has been a dedicated husband, for 5 he has been a grandfather, and for 18 years and counting he has been and will always be my mentor. Today I would like to honor my father John Zachary Smith, and explain to you how and why he has become my mentor. Standing at exactly 6 feet tall, sporting dark black hair and tan skin, being loud, extremely talkative and radiating with energy, are just a few characteristics that can be attributed to his Italian heritage. When introducing himself to someone new, he reaches out his rough and calloused hand giving them a firm handshake and replies “My name’s John Smith, really honest”. My father has the ability to make friends with anyone because he is truly a real joy to be around. He sparks conversations with people and it would seem that were best friends.…
