Halloween Informative Speech
Summer's almost over. The kids are back at school. The lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer, those days of soda and pretzels and beer, etc., are a thing of the past. What we did during them either a guilty secret or a vaguely recalled memory.
Now it's time to turn our full attention to the next major event on our collective calendar, at least here in the USA. I'm referring of course to All Hallows' Eve. Or All Saints Eve. Or, as it's most commonly known these days, Halloween, which takes place every year on October 31st.
Yes, it's time to get into the Spirit of Halloween.
A lot of people in the U.S. regard it as their most favourite "holiday" (in quotes because it's not officially a holiday, i.e. it's a normal working day, if it falls on Mon-Fri,

Samhain's thought to have been a celebration of the end of the harvest season, when the living and the dead overlap and - here's the really scary part - it's thought the dead came back to walk the earth ("Walking Dead" style, maybe?) and wreak havoc by spreading disease and ruining …show more content…
It was generally light-hearted fun - just knocking on people's doors and running away, and such like - but I remember it gave us a bit of a thrill just to go round being mischievous. Good, clean fun, but it really was fun.
Now, would kids today react so innocently to being told "Trick"? I'm not so sure, but, as I say, I'm tempted to try it and find out. Wish me luck!
Fun for Everyone
Regardless of whether you're a trick-or-treater, or just handing over the treats, it's great fun for everybody. The kids and people dressing up have a great time doing so, and the people welcoming their ghoulish guests have a ton of fun just admiring the costumes, some of which are pretty ingenious.
And then again, many homeowners get into the spirit and do some fairly outlandish things when it comes to decorating their homes. I remember taking my daughter around one Halloween. One home was done up so scarily (tombstones, lightning flashes, creaking doors, ghoulish laughter, etc.), she refused to go near it! She gets embarrassed to this day if I tease her about it.
So, whether you're trick-or-treating, or just treating, get into the spirit of Halloween and treat yourself and/or your home to the best in Halloween delights and

We celebrate Halloween on October 31st and the ghoulishly exciting night begins with the first twinkling of the full moon and the overly-sized, perfectly decorated bag ready to be filled with the most delicious treats. What may even be more impressive are the characters clutching the goody bags – perhaps a cute rosy-cheeked angel with feathery wings, a crazy clown whose face is covered with heavy colorful makeup, or a scary creature hiding behind a crumbling mask created with latex? Whoever it is, I am reminded of why the October 31st tradition isn’t as strange as it once was.…

Weather is always changing, especially in Kansas. It will be sunny one minute and snowing the next. The purpose of this statement is that weather is unpredictable, just like a book. A reader can never guess the outcome of a book in the end. For example, settings change, plots change, and most importantly characters change. A dynamic character is one who endures internal change, and in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, many characters change by the end of the book. By analyzing one of the characters in particular, Nick Carraway, from the beginning, middle, and the end, one can realize the dynamic change within himself.…

An elderly person in a nursing home, who can barely understand a breakfast menu, is asked to sign a form consenting to be killed. Is this right or wrong? Assisted suicide also known as euthanasia is defined as “the practice of ending someone’s life in order to release incurable suffering.” (“Euthanasia” 711) Many people who seek help in ending their lives have an agonizing disease and are in great pain. It may also occur when incurably ill people ask their physician or friend and or relative to put them to death or allow them to die. Some believe medical practitioners may cause harm to patients if they are given high doses of pain-killing drugs that could cause death. Euthanasia is categorized in different ways: voluntary, non-voluntary, active and passive (involuntary). Active euthanasia is the injection of lethal drug. “Active euthanasia involves direct action by a physician or caregiver to induce death in a patient.” (“Euthanasia” 711) Passive euthanasia takes place when a physician with holds or with…
