Marketing is the process of promoting and selling the value of a product or services to customers. Every company uses one or the other marketing strategies to communicate with the consumers. It refers to printing, advertising, broadcasting or campaign. It mainly focuses on production and product. Selling the product and making profit is the only aim of Traditional marketing. Traditional marketing consists of 4P’s they are, Product, Promotion, Price and Place. This type of marketing mainly focuses on identifying the right set of audience, understanding their behavior and to provide proper incentives to buy a product or service. First and foremost step is traditional marketing is to identify, understand and target the correct set of audience or customers. Before introducing a new product into the market you need to figure out what type of customers will be willing to buy the product. We need to understand the behavior of the buyers. But these businesses should be aware about turning a fan into a customer to sustain long and smooth run. This being a matter, Traditional and modern marketers still rely on calls to action, i.e. Businesses following traditional marketing wait for phone calls from customers and those following modern technique wait for a click on ‘Like’ button on Facebook.
With so much of competition around, Businesses following Traditional and Modern marketing approaches are equally striving towards identical goal; i.e. the most impactful Marketing content possible. For example: - On billboards, it is an eye teaser or 3D image, tending to attract the customers; and for Social media user, Viral mashup video would be the best result. In this example the common approach is the creativity. (Hearst, February 23, 2013)
Recently in 2012, A Burger king TV ad celebrated the Whopper’s 55th anniversary. The fast food joint’s Facebook page promoted the whopper’s anniversary by using delicious pictures of whoppers as their Cover photo. They offered the Burger for only 55 cents during the feat.
