She states, “Last night / im cleaning out / my howard Johnson ladies room” (1-3). The maid is hard working and believes that is all she can be. She further stated, “ Up pops this frog musta come from the sewer swimming around and tryin ta climb up the toilet bowl” (5-8).
Hazel’s low self-esteem patronizes the loss of her innocence. “ya little green pervert” (20). She has been so corrupted by society that she calls the frog, a “green pervert”. Hazel does not believe good things can happen to her and she does not believe that she is worthy of being a princess or of being kissed. She believes in
