Summary: Manages/supervises all aspects of the varsity girls’ basketball program at Oakes High School.
Reports to: Athletic Director
Supervises: All grades 7-12 Oakes girls’ basketball coaches.
Salary: $4,293-$4,973, Depending on experience. One-year renewable contract.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. Minimum of two years of high school coaching experience.
3. Competitive playing experience, minimum high school varsity level.
4. The ability to be NDHSAA certified, and obtain First Aid/CPR certification prior to the first practice.
5. Strong communication skills required. The ability to communicate with all stakeholders within the program, and positively motivate all towards a common goal.

Hold a pre-season meeting informing parents/athletes of rules/expectations.
2. Monitor the eligibility of athletes. Refer athletes for services to become eligible.
3. Coordinate the program from grade 7 up, evaluate and develop athletes and coaches at the sub-varsity levels.
4. Plan and conduct effective practices daily.
5. Develop appropriate ad effective game plans, and effectively implement/communicate game plans.
6. Utilize film software (Hudl) and share with athletes as needed.
7. Oversee statisticians, and ensure accurate and complete stats are maintained online.
8. Willingness to meet with individual athletes, and evaluate and make corrections to the athletes
9. Motivate athletes to compete at their best, and hold athletes to high standards.
10. Build team camaraderie through activities outside of practices/games.
11. Build positive relationships with parents by hosting an event(s) throughout the season for parents.
12. Remain positive during competitions, and uphold a high level of sportsmanship of self and team.
13. Follow of NDHSAA rules, and ensure all athletes/coaches are aware of all regulations.
