There are many different social, biological and social reasons women’s health differentiates to men’s. Women are shown statistically to live longer than men although men have better health then women, I am going to talk about the different reasons why women’s health is statistically worse then men’s. I am going to group them as Social, biological and emotional reasons for women’s ill health.
Social Reasoning for women’s ill health
First of all women are shown to be more likely to go to the doctors if they notice any changes in their behaviour or health. This is because women are more open about their health where as men may feel like they have to be tough and not show any weaknesses. Men may feel like if they go to the doctors they may get stigma from their peers and they make wind them up about it. So basically because women are more likely to go to the doctors there is more recorded information about women’s ill health but this is simply because men may not go to the doctors when they feel ill. …show more content…
This could be because they have taken up the role of a housewife because they have kids and it may be easier for them. But because they may not socially engage that often they may develop a mental illness such as depression.
Economic Reasoning for women’s ill health
Women earn less money
This can mean they are more likely to be in poverty
This can lead to less pension being paid to women due to the fact they have paid less national insurance in their lifetime.
Women are more likely to lead single parent families
Women may have live in poorer living conditions because of being in poverty which also means they may have a poor diet.
