The purpose of this paper is to discuss, and identify, the legal, ethical and business considerations within the selection process of hiring a managerial position. The Final member who is qualified for the position suffers with a disability that is unclear. The search committee completed their choice out of five candidates. Their first choice is the same as the choice for the Vice president for health services. The Vice president was concerned about the health of the chosen candidate and was selected even though he was honest about his health condition. According the article Tips for Recruiting Employees with Disabilities, (2010) people with disabilities are spread throughout virtually every level of society – every age group, every cultural institution, every ethnic/racial group, and every social/economic class. This “dispersion” is what makes your general public profile so important! Employers should carefully consider how people with disabilities are portrayed in your advertising, merchandising, and recruiting media. If you are able to portray yourself as a company that values the contribution of people with disabilities, it is likely that job seekers with disabilities will gravitate to you. (Particularly when people with disabilities want to avoid the discrimination and awkwardness that is so prevalent in most of their contact with employers (Tips for Recruiting Employees with Disabilities 2010).
